Make history with us.\nPacker | 3rd Shift\nLocation: Ashland\nDepartment: Various Departments\nBase Rate: $17.65/hour + $0.50/hour shift differential\nShift: 3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday 10:50pm - 7am\nStarting times and hours may vary based on production schedules and coverage needs, including during holidays. Mandatory overtime may be required.\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…\nAs a Packer, you will play an important role in getting finished products ready for our customers. You will work as part of the production operation, preparing cartons and displays, packing products, palletizing finished goods, and performing final quality inspections.\nYour attention to safety, quality, cleanliness, and packaging standards will help ensure products leave the facility ready for shipment.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO…\nPrepare cardboard cartons and trays for packing by folding, taping, sorting, labeling, securing carton ends, and positioning packaging materials in the work area.\nEnsure tape guns and taping equipment have sufficient supplies.\nPerform visual inspections of finished product packaging, checking product integrity, bag registration, code dates, pricing, seals, cases, and other applicable packaging requirements.\nRemove products that do not meet specifications and communicate packaging or quality concerns.\nFill cartons and displays according to packaging specifications and verify products are packed with the correct corresponding labels.\nTape and seal cartons when applicable.\nStack the correct number of cartons or trays on pallets/skids using the required stacking pattern.\nUse a pallet jack, when applicable, to move finished goods weighing up to 300 pounds.\nClear loose product from the work area and properly discard defective bags, boxes, and trays.\nAssist with product rework according to plant expectations.\nFollow applicable safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and personal-protection procedures.\nMaintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S protocols.\nStore packaging-room supplies in designated locations and keep aisles and exits free from obstructions.\nRemove trash and follow safe lifting and carrying practices for materials of various sizes, shapes, and weights.\nPerform assigned sanitation activities, including equipment washes, seasoner cleaning, and wipeouts.\nPrepare production lines for startup and assist with equipment changeovers when applicable.\nOperate tray-making and/or stapling machines when assigned.\nReport equipment, production, packaging, or other issues to Machine Operators, Group Leaders, or Supervisors as appropriate.\nPerform other duties as required.\nWork mandatory overtime when required to support production needs.\nWHO YOU WILL WORK WITH…\nYou will work closely with Machine Operators, Group Leaders, Supervisors, and other production team members to maintain a safe, clean, efficient operation and ensure finished products meet packaging and quality requirements.\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)\nHigh school diploma or GED and/or at least 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to work 3rd shift and adjust to changes in starting times or hours based on production schedules and coverage requirements.\nAbility to work mandatory overtime when required.\nAbility to work safely around moving mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to follow safety, sanitation, hygiene, quality, and 5S procedures.\nAbility to perform repetitive production and packaging activities throughout the shift.\nPhysical requirements include:\nContinuous standing, use of hands, pushing, pulling, hand dexterity, and bending.\nFrequent walking, stooping, kneeling, overhead work, ladder climbing, two-handed carrying, tasting, and smelling.\nOccasional driving and climbing.\nRepetitive twisting.\nAbility to continuously handle weights up to 25 pounds.\nAbility to occasionally handle weights up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to follow safe lifting and carrying practices.\nWork environment:\nRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts.\nFrequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.\nOccasional exposure to high or elevated areas, fumes or airborne particles, and caustic chemicals.\nWork in an environment where noise levels are typically loud.\nIT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)\nPrevious experience working in a production, packaging, food manufacturing, or similar manufacturing environment.\nFamiliarity with pallet jacks, tray-making equipment, stapling machines, or other packaging equipment.\nExperience working within 5S, sanitation, food safety, or manufacturing quality processes.\nExperience performing visual quality inspections or identifying packaging defects.\nWhat I changed: I reorganized the original posting into the required five-section format, consolidated repetitive physical requirements, converted task-oriented wording into clearer candidate-facing language, and separated true minimum requirements from experience that is better positioned as a nice-to-have.\nIndividual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
