This is a ground-up, 0-to-1 opportunity to architect, build, and scale core payment technology and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, security, reliability, and scalable system design.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\nTechnical Architecture & Strategy :\n\n- Define and drive the technical architecture and engineering strategy for payment products and platforms, aligned with product objectives and regulatory requirements.\n\n- Make key architectural decisions to build secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performance payment infrastructure.\n\nGround-Up Development & Integration :\n\n- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of payment infrastructure from scratch.\n\n- Build and scale solutions across PPI wallets, UPI, prepaid and other card products, and payment processing capabilities.\n\n- Drive integrations with banking partners, payment networks, processors, gateways, and external technology providers.\n\nScalability, Reliability & Performance :\n\n- Design systems capable of handling growing transaction volumes while maintaining high availability and reliability.\n\n- Establish robust monitoring, alerting, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and incident-management mechanisms.\n\n- Continuously improve system performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.\n\nTechnical Leadership :\n\n- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the engineering team, owning technical decisions, execution, and delivery.\n\n- Mentor engineers, establish coding standards, and drive engineering best practices.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration :\n\n- Work closely with Product, Compliance, Design, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.\n\n- Ensure timely delivery of product features while maintaining engineering quality and operational readiness.\n\nRegulatory Compliance & Security :\n\n- Ensure technology systems adhere to applicable RBI regulations, PCI-DSS requirements, and relevant payment-network standards.\n\n- Implement robust security controls and safeguards for payment processing and financial data.\n\n- Embed compliance and security considerations into system architecture and development practices.\n\nTechnical Skills :\n\n- Core Java\n\n- Systems Design\n\n- Solution Architecture\n\n- Java\n\n- Spring Boot\n\n- Spring Framework\n\n- Spring Security\n\n- AWS Lambda\n\n- Amazon Web Services (AWS)\n\nQualifications & Experience :\n\n- Experience : 8+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on payments, fintech, or financial technology platforms.\n\n- Payments Expertise : Hands-on experience building and scaling payment systems across one or more of PPI wallets, UPI, cards, or payment processing.\n\n- Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of payment processing, API integrations, security protocols, and financial data processing.\n\n- Credit Card Processing : Experience with credit card processing and related payment infrastructure will be an added advantage.\n\n- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a metrics-driven approach to technical decision-making.\n\n- Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, and collaborate effectively across functions.\n\n- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
