Guided by integrity, trust, excellence, and accountability, our team helps deliver complex capital programs and build the resilient energy infrastructure that communities depend on.\nPosition Overview\nCARIAN is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support large-scale utility capital programs by providing strong cost control, forecasting, and reporting capabilities. This role is highly analytical and execution-focused, supporting multiple Project Managers simultaneously and ensuring financial, schedule, and project data remain accurate, integrated, and decision-ready.\nThe Project Controls Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining financial discipline, schedule alignment, and reporting integrity across active programs. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in data-driven environments and enjoys being the backbone of strong project execution.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport 5-6 Project Managers concurrently across projects in various phases of design and construction.\n\nDevelop, implement, and maintain internal and external cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.\n\nProvide accurate and timely updates to cost reports and project forecasts.\n\nPerform quality checks and inspections on all project controls deliverables.\n\nCompare project schedules to financial data to ensure alignment with project timelines.\n\nIntegrate schedule data and other project data sources in Excel using formulas, pivot tables, macros, and related tools.\n\nAnalyze project controls reports, present findings, and provide recommendations to project controls leadership.\n\nTrack budgets against Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.\n\nReview upstream (prime contract) and downstream (PO and subcontract) change orders for accuracy and alignment.\n\nManage and integrate data across multiple programs.\n\nServe as a technical point of contact for APMs, PMs, Lead Engineers, and Construction staff.\n\nSupport continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting quality.\n\nPerform additional duties as assigned in support of program delivery.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field from an accredited program.\n\nMinimum of 4+ years of experience in project controls, cost controls, project finance, or related roles.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work independently and make sound, timely decisions.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel capabilities strongly preferred.\n\nExperience with SAP preferred.\n\nAbility to travel as required; valid driver’s license required.\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.\n\nWhy CARIAN\nPurpose-driven work - Help deliver infrastructure that powers communities\n\nIndustry reputation - Trusted by leading utilities for our reliability and results\n\nCareer growth - Opportunities to lead major programs and mentor high-performing teams\n\nCollaborative culture - Join a team that values delivery excellence and long-term relationships\n\nCompetitive total rewards - Strong compensation, full benefits, 401(k) match, and meaningful work\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nCARIAN is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
