Junior Accountant supporting the maintenance of accurate financial records across multiple companies, requiring a degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance with CPA/ACCA studies and 2-3 years relevant accounting experience, in a multi-company business environment, on-site role in Nairobi.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and highly organized Junior Accountant to join our team in Nairobi.\n\nThe Junior Accountant will support the maintenance of accurate financial records across multiple companies and accounts, including transaction recording, bank and M-PESA reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, inventory reconciliation, expense management, statutory compliance and financial documentation.\n\nThe position is suitable for an early-career accounting professional with a solid accounting foundation who is interested in developing practical experience in a structured, multi-company and inventory-based business environment.\n\nWe use an integrated ERP system to manage our accounting, inventory and operational activities. Previous experience working with accounting or ERP software is an advantage, but training will be provided on our systems and processes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAccounting & Reconciliation\n\nRecord and review daily financial transactions accurately in our ERP system.\n\nPerform bank, M-PESA, cash and other account reconciliations.\n\nMaintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.\n\nRecord and reconcile intercompany transactions and internal fund transfers.\n\nEnsure transactions have appropriate receipts, invoices and supporting documentation.\n\nReview expense documentation and correctly categorize transactions.\n\nInvestigate unreconciled, unmatched or incorrectly recorded transactions.\n\nSupport monthly accounting close and reconciliation activities.\n\nSupport the preparation of accounting and management reports.\n\nInventory Accounting & Control\n\nMaintain accurate inventory-related accounting records within the ERP system.\n\nReconcile inventory records between the ERP system, supporting documents and physical stock counts.\n\nParticipate in periodic physical inventory counts and stock verification exercises.\n\nReview inventory receipts, transfers, consumption and adjustments to ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.\n\nIdentify and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.\n\nAssist with inventory valuation and ensure inventory-related transactions are correctly reflected in the accounts.\n\nMonitor inventory adjustments, damaged stock, write-offs and other inventory movements requiring accounting review.\n\nWork with operations and inventory staff to resolve stock discrepancies and improve inventory record accuracy.\n\nEscalate significant or recurring inventory variances to management.\n\nTax & Statutory Compliance\n\nAssist with VAT, PAYE and other statutory accounting and tax requirements.\n\nStay informed of changes to Kenyan tax laws, regulations, statutory requirements and other tax-related developments relevant to the company’s operations.\n\nProactively communicate relevant regulatory changes, deadlines and potential implications to management.\n\nMaintain appropriate records and supporting documentation for statutory filings and compliance requirements.\n\nSystems, Controls & Documentation\n\nMaintain organized digital accounting records and supporting documentation.\n\nMaintain assigned accounting tasks and timesheets in our ERP system.\n\nFollow established accounting procedures, internal controls and approval processes.\n\nIdentify and escalate accounting discrepancies or unusual transactions.\n\nSupport external accountants and auditors when required.\n\nPerform other accounting and administrative duties as required.\n\nQualifications & Requirements\n\nCandidates should have:\n\nA degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.\n\nCPA qualification, current CPA studies, ACCA qualification/current ACCA studies, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification.\n\n2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.\n\nSound understanding of double-entry accounting and general ledger principles.\n\nGood understanding of bank and account reconciliation.\n\nKnowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.\n\nUnderstanding of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.\n\nFamiliarity with Kenyan statutory accounting and tax requirements.\n\nGood Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.\n\nExperience using accounting software or an ERP system is an advantage.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\n\nThe ideal candidate should be:\n\nDetail-oriented and accurate when working with
