We are going through an exciting period of expansion and seek to recruit into our Global Employer Segment which currently employs 8,000 people and has over 30 million customer relationships in more than 200 countries and jurisdictions.\nThe International Health Data Engineering team is located in the heart of the Global Health Benefits delivery group and is responsible for Cigna's data integration hub which consumes data from multiple sources including all the policy admin systems, and makes it available to numerous downstream consumers. The data engineering team is central in provisioning the data that supports a number of key initiatives, including all the web portals, and multiple integrations both internal and external.\nAs a member of this team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our existing systems, as well as establishing how our data-driven solutions are developed and coded. You will be encouraged to contribute your own ideas and expertise, as well as to keep your skills up to date through training and learning.\nThe position reports to the Data Engineering Technical Lead and you will have the opportunity to engage with multiple teams across a number of different technological disciplines and geographical locations.\nCore responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain core ETL processes\nDevelop changes in T-SQL and SSIS for both “business as usual” and project work streams.\nTroubleshooting and problem resolution for data related issues.\nWork closely with scrum team members to document requirements, design technical solutions and attend project workshops and meetings.\nModel and document data mapping solutions, working with business and other technical teams to decide on the best solution.\nAssist with regular releases to live systems using CI/CD pipelines.\nProactively suggest improvements to code, tools and ways of working.\nEssential Skills:\nMinimum of 5 years' experience in developing and supporting SQL Server ETL solutions\nExpertise in T-SQL, including writing complex stored procedures, views and functions\nStrong understanding of database concepts and experience with query optimization and performance tuning\nExperience of developing ETL routines utilising SSIS\nHave knowledge and experience of OLAP and OLTP environments\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a flair for reverse engineering complex code\nExperience working with Agile development methodologies\nHighly desirable:\nPython, C#, VB.net or any other programming language\nOracle and Postgres experience\nDatabricks, Basic Cloud Experience (AWS/Azure)\nGit or other source control expertise\nExperience working in an Agile team utilizing SAFe\nExperience of continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD)\nExperience with AI driven code generation tools\nThe person:\nA real self-starter, happy to see a project or issue through to the end\nPassionate about technology and applying it to business solutions\nEnthusiastic and possessing a “can do” attitude\nHave a track record of getting things done whilst adhering to a governance framework\nA passion for data engineering and all things data related\nAbout The Cigna Group\nCigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is an advocate for better health through every stage of life.
