In this position, you will collaborate closely with your development team on projects aligned with Evernorth’s strategic objectives and work alongside subject matter experts to accurately interpret business logic for engineering purposes.\nThe MDM Operations Advisor provides expert-level leadership and subject matter expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) Operations, with a focus on Client and Producer domains. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, reliable, and governed master data through operational oversight, data quality management, and cross-functional collaboration.\nThe Advisor applies deep knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and MDM platforms to drive consistency, operational efficiency, and data integrity across enterprise systems. This individual is recognized as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, contributing to strategic initiatives while ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.\nResponsibilities\nMDM Operations & Production Support\nLead daily operations for Client & Producer MDM, ensuring stability, performance, and data accuracy\n\nManage and resolve production support incidents through ServiceNow (SNOW), adhering to defined SLAs and best practices\n\nPerform and oversee match/merge review activities (including manual review of potential match pairs)\n\nConduct root cause analysis and partner with upstream/downstream teams to remediate data issues\n\nData Quality & Governance\nMonitor and improve data quality through ongoing analysis of DQ reports, exception reporting, and audit processes\n\nUnderstand and manage critical data elements (CDEs), taking action on insights derived from data quality metrics\n\nCollaborate with Data Governance teams to identify and enforce policies, standards, definitions, and data stewardship practices\n\nReporting & Analytics\nDevelop operational dashboards and monthly reporting to provide visibility into MDM health, trends, and KPIs\n\nLeverage BI tools (e.g., Tableau) to identify data issues and support business decision-making\n\nDeliver actionable insights to stakeholders to improve data quality and operational efficiency\n\nEngineering Collaboration & Solution Enablement\nPartner with Engineering teams to troubleshoot and enhance system functionality, including:\n\nData mappings and transformations\n\nMatch/merge logic and survivorship rules\n\nAutomation opportunities and system enhancements\n\nProvide input into future-state architecture and MDM platform evolution (e.g., migration strategies, automation enablement)\n\nThought Leadership & Continuous Improvement\nServe as a subject matter expert (SME) in MDM operations, data governance, and data quality\n\nIdentify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and advanced analytics to reduce manual effort and improve outcomes\n\nDrive innovation across operational processes, tooling, and reporting capabilities\n\nContribute to enterprise-wide data strategy initiatives and cross-functional programs\n\nQualifications\nRequired Skills:\n5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Operations\n\nProven experience with MDM platforms such as Informatica, Reltio, IBM, or TAMR\n\nStrong SQL proficiency with the ability to analyze, manipulate, and troubleshoot data\n\nExperience with data tools and platforms such as Databricks, TOAD, SQL Developer, Collibra, Tableau, and ServiceNow\n\nSolid understanding of:\nData modeling and data warehousing\n\nData quality frameworks and governance practices\n\nReference data and metadata management.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills\n\nBachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)\n\nKey Competencies\nExecutive-level communication and stakeholder engagement\n\nCross-functional collaboration (Business, Engineering, Governance)\n\nOperational leadership and process optimization\n\nData-driven decision-making\n\nStrategic thinking with hands-on execution capability\n\nRequired Experience & Education:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 10 to 14 years of experience in application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.\nDesired Experience:\nPrevious Healthcare or health services industry experience\n\nExperience supporting large-scale MDM platforms\n\nFamiliarity with AI/automation tools in data operations (e.g., intelligent match/merge optimization).\n\nEqual Opportunity Statement:\nEvernorth is an Equal Opportunity Employer actively encouraging and supporting organization-wide involvement of staff in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to educate, inform and advance both internal practices and external work with diverse client populations.\nAbout Evernorth Health Services\nEvernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, creates pharmacy, care and benefit solutions to improve health and increase vitality.
