In this role, you'll help design and deliver scalable solutions while influencing engineering standards, accelerating delivery through modern AI tooling, and mentoring fellow engineers.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications that support healthcare cost analytics and forecasting.\nBuild modern APIs and web applications using industry-leading technologies and engineering best practices.\nDeliver high-quality, production-ready code while taking ownership of testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support.\nCollaborate with software engineers, data professionals, product partners, and business stakeholders to develop solutions that solve complex healthcare challenges.\nDrive engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews, technical mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nEvaluate architectural options, make informed engineering trade-offs, and communicate technical decisions effectively.\nLeverage AI technologies and large language model (LLM) frameworks to improve developer productivity, accelerate delivery, and enhance user experiences.\nContribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from solution design through implementation and production support.\nContinuously learn emerging technologies and industry trends to help shape the future of healthcare analytics.\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of software engineering experience developing APIs using modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar technologies.\n10+ years of experience building web applications using modern frameworks, with strong experience in React preferred.\nExperience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed application architectures.\n2+ years of experience working within Agile delivery teams using Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.\n2+ years of experience using end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.\nHands-on experience with AI and LLM technologies, including frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, OpenAI, Claude, or comparable platforms.\nStrong experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and working with large-scale datasets.\nExperience using Git-based source control, pull requests, and collaborative code review practices.\nStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nAbility to mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with CI/CD tools and practices such as Jenkins, Ansible, automated testing, and continuous delivery.\nCloud platform experience, preferably AWS.\nExperience with big data technologies such as Databricks, Spark, or Teradata.\nUnderstanding of user experience principles and familiarity with design tools such as Figma.\nHealthcare industry experience.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\nIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.\nThis role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.\nAt The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
