As a Risk & Underwriting Senior Analyst in The Cigna Group’s Pharmacy Underwriting Development Program, you will help support pricing and underwriting strategies for pharmacy benefits solutions. Designed to help you transition from college to career, this program is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals who are curious, motivated, and eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world business challenges.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport pricing strategies for new and renewing business, including RFPs, direct offers, and market checks.\nAnalyze financial data to assess business impacts, including formulary, network, and specialty drug changes.\nContribute to client proposals and recommendations that balance competitiveness, client needs, and financial risk.\nAssist with contracting and implementation activities to support pricing accuracy and consistency.\nCollaborate with cross-functional partners to develop compliant, business-aligned financial solutions. \nSupport forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning through financial trend analysis. \nBuild PBM industry knowledge while strengthening analytical, communication, and business skills. \nWhat You’ll Get:\nStructured Curriculum: Comprehensive training modules in which you will develop knowledge of Pharmacy Benefits Management, build technical and professional skills \nMentorship & Development: Coaching, mentoring, and hands-on business initiatives to accelerate your growth. \nRequired Qualifications\nA bachelor’s degree is required. Preference for the following major and/or minors are preferred: Risk Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Finance \nRelevant internship in related field preferred (Risk Management, Economics, or Finance or similar)\nComfort working with Excel for analysis, reporting, modeling, or data-driven decision-making. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nAttention to detail and sound decision-making abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nGPA of 3.0 or higher preferred\nDemonstrated leadership, curiosity, innovative thinking, and ability to build strong working relationships. \nEagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a team-oriented culture. \nCustomer-focused mindset with interest in healthcare, finance, risk, or underwriting. \nAdditional Information:\nStart Date: January 25th, 2027 \n Location: This position is based in one of the following office locations: Bloomfield, CT; Chattanooga, TN; Franklin, TN; Bloomington MN; Philadelphia, PA; St. Louis, MO or Morris Plains, NJ. The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week working onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of the employee’s choice), and the option to work the remaining days remotely. Relocation assistance is not offered, and employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule for their assigned office location. \nPre -Employment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date.
