This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys partnering across disciplines, and is energized by building modern, data-driven platforms.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, build, and evolve scalable full-stack software solutions that support reporting, workflow automation, analytics, and predictive capabilities.\n\nLead technical design and contribute to architecture decisions for distributed, data-intensive systems.\n\nPartner with product and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into clear, effective technical solutions.\n\nOwn delivery outcomes by estimating work, sequencing initiatives, identifying risks, and driving execution to completion.\n\nApply modern development practices and AI-assisted tools to improve code quality, developer efficiency, and system performance.\n\nCollaborate closely with engineering, QA, and operations partners to deliver reliable, production-ready software.\n\nEnsure secure and resilient deployments through monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.\n\nContinuously improve engineering standards, processes, and patterns to raise the overall quality and maturity of the platform.\n\nMentor and support fellow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.\n\nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying new ideas where they add value.\n\nProtect sensitive and proprietary data while supporting compliance requirements, including HIPAA.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n10+ years of experience building enterprise-grade software applications and distributed systems.\n\nStrong backend development experience using object-oriented or modern programming languages (Golang strongly preferred).\n\nExperience designing systems for scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.\n\nHands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and platforms such as AWS.\n\nExperience working with modern CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements.\n\nClear and effective written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.\n\nExperience building modern frontend applications using frameworks such as Angular or React.\n\nExperience working with complex data models and large datasets, including NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.\n\nExperience leading technical initiatives or projects.\n\nExperience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.\n\nExperience with healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated industry systems.\n\nIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.\nThis role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.\nAt The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
