What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $68,773 - $89,000/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office at the Webb Municipal Building (201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202). Tuesday is a mandatory in-office day; the other two days will be determined upon hire.

Who We Are & What You’ll Do

The Sourcing & Strategy Division, part of the Department of General Services, manages citywide service contracts, facility security, utility payments, mailroom operations, and abandoned RV disposal. It is part of a three-division department that provides integral support for 40-plus City and County of Denver agencies, departments, and offices. Specifically, as the Contract Administrator, you will:

  • Develop and market contracting opportunities to provide services and related goods to the City, facilitate pre-proposal conferences, review proposals and financial information, and oversee evaluations.

  • Serve as a liaison to the City Attorney’s Office to monitor contracts through the review and approval process and facilitate negotiation of final terms.

  • Manage contracts through their entire life cycle in the contract management system, monitor upcoming expirations, spend capacity, and initiate contract amendments.

  • Coordinate actions related to contract performance issues, breaches and termination, and maintain accurate records in the contract management system.

  • Provide a high-level of customer service, and provide procurement and contract guidance to staff and contractors.

  • Make presentations to executive leaders, city staff, contractors, and others as required.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational efficiencies and prepare reports and recommendations for management.

  • Recommend and coordinate the implementation of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to the revision of existing and development of new policies and SOPs.

  • Conduct on-site investigations to verify contractual compliance, inquiries, audits, and follow-up inspections as needed.

  • Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for contract files throughout their lifecycle, archive supporting documents, and prepare performance reports for management.

  • Coordinate internal review committees and provide recommendations regarding contract renewals, extensions, amendments, and modifications.

What You’ll Bring

  • Ability to communicate clearly and present information effectively.

  • Problem solving skills with an ability to make informed decisions.

  • Comfortability coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Superior customer service skills with a proactive, forward-facing approach

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Management, or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation, contract administration, or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget, compliance issues, or accounting.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
