The Opportunity:

This role develops, implements, and coordinates The City of Red Deer’s Sponsorship Program. The role identifies and evaluates sponsorship assets, develops and advances sponsorship and partner opportunities by cultivating relationships with sponsors and community partners. The position oversees sponsorship fulfilment and stewardship activities to create mutually beneficial partnerships that support City priorities, community experiences, and sponsor objectives.

Top Key Responsibilities:

• Sponsorship & Partnership Development - Identify, secure, and grow corporate sponsorships and strategic partnerships. Build relationships with sponsors, partners, and internal stakeholders. Develop proposals, presentations, and customized sponsorship opportunities. Negotiate sponsorship agreements and manage partnership development.
• Sponsor Relationship Management - Maintain strong, long-term sponsor relationships. Monitor sponsor satisfaction and partnership outcomes. Lead sponsor recognition, renewal, and retention efforts. Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships.
• Sponsorship Program & Marketing Management - Develop and enhance the City's sponsorship program and inventory of sponsorship assets. Create sponsorship approaches, valuations, marketing materials, and promotional strategies. Identify new sponsorship opportunities and monitor industry trends.
• Sponsorship Fulfillment & Implementation - Coordinate delivery of sponsorship benefits and contractual commitments. Manage sponsor activations and work with internal departments to ensure successful execution. Address fulfillment issues and ensure sponsor expectations are met.
• Reporting, Budgeting & Program Performance - Track sponsorship revenue, budgets, and performance metrics. Prepare reports and forecasts. Identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness and financial results.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Commerce, Public Administration, Recreation Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent education or experience will be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in sponsorship development, business development, account management, partnership development, fundraising sponsorships, marketing partnerships, or related fields.
• Experience developing and managing sponsorship inventories, sponsorship proposals, and complex partnership agreements.
• Municipal experience is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of sponsorship program development and sponsorship valuation methodologies
• Knowledge of asset inventory development related to sponsorship opportunities
• Sponsorship sales, negotiation, activation, and fulfilment skill
• Knowledge of strategic marketing partnerships
• Relationship and account management skills
• Knowledge of business development and revenue generation practices
• Knowledge of proposal development and presentation techniques
• Understanding of contract administration fundamentals
• Strategic thinking and organizational awareness
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
• Political and organizational acumen
• Strong communication and partner engagement skills

Remuneration:

$41.68 to $44.13 per hour.

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Availability required for weekends, evenings, weekdays, early mornings and potential split shifts as business needs are required.

Additional Information:

This is a two-year term full-time position with potential for an extension.
