What awaits you is an enriching and collaborative environment that fosters your growth at every step.\nProject Description:\nWe are currently looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an innovative, AI-first engineering team working on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan.\nYou will contribute to the development and evolution of modern financial applications, focusing on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.\nThe role involves designing and developing end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, going beyond traditional data processing to build robust applications, services, and integrated systems.\nSenior Solution Engineer, you will take ownership of backend development, contribute to architectural decisions, and translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.\nWhile the primary focus is on Python backend engineering, the role also offers opportunities to work with frontend technologies such as Vue.js. Advanced frontend expertise is not required, but openness to learning and contributing across the application stack is highly valued.\nThe project follows a ClaudeCode approach, where AI-powered development tools, coding assistants, and modern automation solutions are incorporated into everyday engineering workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support innovative problem-solving.\nYou will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to building modern, high-quality software solutions in an international environment.\nYour Responsibilities\nDesigning, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services using Python.\n\nBuilding end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, including application components, integrations, and backend services.\n\nDesigning and implementing REST APIs and integrating backend systems with external services.\n\nDeveloping and maintaining cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.\n\nTaking ownership of technical solutions, from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment.\n\nContributing to frontend development when needed, with opportunities to work with modern JavaScript frameworks.\n\nLeveraging AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.\n\nExploring opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation into software development processes.\n\nBuilding prototypes, validating technical concepts, and delivering scalable solutions.\n\nParticipating in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architectural discussions.\n\nCollaborating with cross-functional, international teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.\n\nIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and performance optimization.\n\nPromoting engineering best practices, clean code, maintainability, and modern software development standards.\n\nRequirements\nMinimum 6 years of commercial experience in Python backend development, with strong expertise in designing and building production-grade applications.\n\nSenior-level software engineering skills, including the ability to independently design, develop, and deliver complex technical solutions.\n\nStrong understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and software design principles.\n\nExperience with cloud-based application development, preferably using AWS.\n\nSolid knowledge of object-oriented programming, clean code principles, and software engineering best practices.\n\nExperience with CI/CD processes, version control systems, and modern development practices.\n\nWillingness to work with frontend technologies and contribute to frontend development when required.\n\nAn AI-first mindset, with openness to using AI-assisted development tools, automation, and emerging technologies.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills, independence, and a solution-oriented approach.\n\nAbility to take ownership of technical decisions while considering scalability, performance, maintainability, and business requirements.\n\nAdvanced English communication skills, both written and spoken, for collaboration with international clients and teams.\n\nNice to Have\nFamiliarity with Databricks, including basic knowledge of the platform and its capabilities.\n\nPractical experience with frontend development using React,Vue.js, Angular, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.\n\nExperience with Claude Code or other AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.\n\nExperience developing applications in banking, fintech, or financial services.\n\nExperience with Docker and containerized applications.\n\nKnowledge of Linux operating systems.\n\nFamiliarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.\n\nExperience with AI agents, agentic coding workflows, or AI-powered development automation.\n\nExperience designing technical solutions from scratch or contributing to architectural decisions.\n\nRecruitment process:\n30 minute screening call online with our recruiter\n\n1h technical call with one of our engineers\n\n1h call with the manager\n\nOffer\n\nQuestions, insights?
