It is a key strategic initiative supporting resilient banking and payment services and the successful redevelopment of 65 Martin Place.\nWe are seeking experienced Systems Services Engineers to support the CoreMod Server Decommissioning work stream. The role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and governance of infrastructure decommissioning activities across virtual servers, physical servers, compute, storage, and supporting infrastructure services.\n About the role\nLead the decommissioning of virtual servers, physical servers, and infrastructure appliances across the legacy infrastructure environment.\nValidate application migration completion, business readiness, and technical dependencies before infrastructure retirement.\nEnsure the decommissioning activities follows the standard server decommissioning SOPs and procedures\nPlan and execute VMware, Windows Server and RHEL decommissioning activities in accordance with approved standards and procedures.\nCoordinate decommissioning of compute platforms, including VMware, HPE and Cisco UCS environments.\nSupport storage and SAN decommissioning activities, including dependency management, data migration, retention, and backup considerations\nCoordinate with Networks, Security, Storage, IT Operations and Asset Management teams to ensure all dependent activities are completed.\nManage infrastructure clean-up activities including Active Directory, DNS, monitoring, backup, configuration management, and security platforms.\nEnsure backup retention, recovery and long-term archive requirements are maintained in accordance with business and regulatory obligations\nPrepare implementation plans, rollback plans, risk assessments, impact assessments, and CAB submissions.\nMaintain CMDB, asset management records, operational documentation, and support procedures throughout the decommissioning lifecycle.\nValidate that all application, infrastructure, security, and operational dependencies have been addressed prior to final retirement.\nSupport post-change validation, hyper-care activities and decommissioning sign-off.\nAssist with updating decommissioning tracking sheets and related project artefacts\nIdentify and manage implementation risks, issues, and service impacts.\nDrive process improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of decommissioning standards and procedures.\nAbout you\nExperience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and enterprise virtualisation platforms.\nExperience administering Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.\nKnowledge of Cisco UCS, HPE compute platforms, storage environments, and enterprise datacentre infrastructure.\nExperience with Active Directory, DNS, monitoring, backup, and configuration management tools.\nUnderstanding of backup retention, disaster recovery, and infrastructure lifecycle management.\nBe More\nWorking for an organisation that truly makes a difference to the people of Australia, we can offer development and career opportunities in a collaborative environment that supports your growth, wellbeing and promotes flexibility.
