Bar Marti is exclusive to hotel guests, providing an intimate setting to admire Charleston’s most unforgettable view.\nHOURS OF OPERATION\nBar: 10:30AM - 7PM\nDining: 10:30AM - 7PM\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory management. \nBe thoroughly familiar with all menu items, specials, beverages, etc. \nMaintain safe working conditions and practices. \nConduct daily pre-meal meetings with service staff. \nSupervise the floor during operation. Coordinate all functions in the dining room during service. \nSet service staff schedules. \nMonitor and handle guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. \nReview departmental profits, payroll expenses, etc. \nReview and maintain other expense control sheets. \nIdentify and implement methods for efficiency and reduction of payroll costs. \nAdminister pay increases according to length of service, performance evaluation, and hotel policy standards. \nAssist in the development of new marketing ideas within the department. \nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget forecasts. \nConduct performance evaluations and disciplinary procedures. \nExpedite table turnover and table resetting. \nCoordinate and supervise the ordering of all supplies. Conduct the monthly inventory of supplies. \nNegotiate with external vendors. \nREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:\nCollege or vocational degree required, preferably in hotel/restaurant management, sales, or marketing. \nMinimum five years of experience in a leadership position in a 4- or 5-star restaurant, with a minimum of three years of progressive management. \nAccounting, budgeting, and financial statement working knowledge. \nProven leadership qualities. \nFull working knowledge of restaurant operations, budgets, and management. \nAbility to communicate with hotel guests, suppliers, and employees to their understanding. \nKnowledge of all applicable State/Federal labor, liquor, and restaurant laws & regulations. \nAbility to provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to guests. \nAbility to analyze written reports and prepare written or typed reports. \nAbility to access, input, and retrieve information on the computer system. \nAbility to work independently and exercise judgment to resolve personnel and production issues that arise during daily operations. \nAbility to handle the stress inherent in overseeing operations, interacting with colleagues, and resolving guest problems. \nAbility to work under pressure, be organized, self-motivated, and work well with others. \nStrong positive attitude and ability to initiate a light conversation with guests. \nKnowledge of hotel property and operating hours of each guest service area.
