This role executes floral design and oversees shop management, inventory, and guest service, ensuring every arrangement reflects our brand’s elevated aesthetic and enhances the guest experience.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nFloral Design & Creative Direction\nCreate refined, bespoke floral arrangements for guests and patrons.\nMaintain a cohesive design aesthetic aligned with the property’s luxury standards.\nOperations & Inventory\nManage the daily operations of the flower shop, ensuring an organized, beautiful, and efficient workspace.\nOversee ordering, receiving, and care of florals and supplies with strong attention to freshness and cost control.\nDevelop curated retail offerings such as specialty bouquets and luxury gifting items.\nGuest Experience & Service\nProvide warm, personalized service to guests seeking custom floral pieces or event support.\nCollaborate with Rooms and Guest Experience teams to elevate guest experiences.\nLeadership & Financial Stewardship\nLead and develop a team of floral designers and assistants.\nManage the shop budget, including forecasting and cost management.\nREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:\nAt least 5 years of floral design experience.\nExperience managing operations and inventory in a floral or retail environment.\nExceptional taste level, organizational skill, and service mindset.\nAbility to work flexibly, including weekends, holidays, and event schedules.\nDemonstrated portfolio of refined, modern, and elegant floral design.\nStrong understanding of floral varieties, seasonality, color theory, conditioning, and longevity techniques.\nAbility to lift up to 40 lbs., work on ladders, and stand for extended periods.\nSafety, Standards, & Compliance\nFollow all hotel and departmental safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.\nEnsure proper storage of hazardous materials and cutting tools.\nMaintain compliance with fire code regulations for floral installations.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:\nMust be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc., of at least 30 pounds. \nMust be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. \nThe role may require extended periods of time on your feet, especially during peak hotel hours or events. \nClear vision is important for reading reports, analyzing data, and overseeing activities. \nGood hearing is necessary for effective communication with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders. \nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\n_______________________________________________________________________________\nBHC is an equal employment opportunity employer.
