This role is focused on turning engineering standards and guardrails into practical, scalable solutions across the SDLC — including reusable technical patterns, automated controls, integrated tooling, dashboards and developer enablement.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAs the Software Engineering Technical Lead, you will provide hands-on technical leadership within the Software Engineering Centre of Excellence and help turn engineering standards, guardrails and governance requirements into practical, scalable solutions across the software delivery lifecycle.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\n Implementing software engineering standards, controls and governance within engineering tools and delivery workflows.\n\n Designing and maintaining reusable CI/CD pipeline components, templates, quality gates, automated checks and technical control points.\n\n Integrating source control, testing, code quality, security, work management, observability, incident and reporting tools.\n\n Supporting automated DevOps processes across build, test, scan, package, deploy, rollback and release-readiness activities.\n\n Implementing secure SDLC controls including branch and merge controls, static analysis, dependency checks, secrets detection and related quality gates.\n\n Enabling automated testing and reporting across unit, API, integration, UI, performance and security testing.\n\n Building engineering telemetry and dashboards covering DORA metrics, flow, quality, reliability, developer experience, AI usage and automated testing.\n\n Supporting AI-assisted software engineering through approved tooling, access controls, usage telemetry, token controls and governance measures.\n\n Creating reusable engineering patterns, golden paths, onboarding guides, technical runbooks and self-service documentation.\n\n Onboarding developers and engineering teams onto approved platforms, tools and delivery practices.\n\n Troubleshooting integration failures, automation defects, configuration drift and engineering-tooling issues.\n\n Working across multiple business units and technology environments while supporting a federated engineering model.\n\nThe role requires someone who can move comfortably between technical design, implementation, automation, troubleshooting and developer enablement. \n\nDesired Experience & Qualification\n\n A 3-year degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field.\n\n Minimum 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, developer enablement, site reliability engineering, quality engineering or a related technical discipline.\n\n Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and integrated engineering toolchains.\n\n Solid understanding of source control, branching strategies, pull/merge request controls and repository administration.\n\n Experience with pipeline-as-code, scripting and automation, using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript or similar.\n\n Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, secure SDLC practices, SAST, SCA, DAST, secrets detection and vulnerability remediation.\n\n Experience implementing automated governance controls, policy-as-code, reusable templates and quality gates.\n\n Strong understanding of Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, platform engineering, golden paths and developer self-service.\n\n Experience with observability, API integration, engineering telemetry and dashboard enablement.\n\n Exposure to DORA metrics, engineering productivity measures and developer experience metrics.\n\n Experience onboarding multiple development teams onto enterprise engineering platforms and reusable delivery patterns.\n\n Exposure to AI coding assistants, AI-assisted development, token usage or AI code governance will be highly advantageous.\n\n Relevant certifications in DevOps, cloud, CI/CD, platform engineering, security, Kubernetes, Git, observability or test automation will be advantageous.\n\nThe ideal candidate should be highly technical, pragmatic, automation-focused and comfortable operating across engineers, architects, security, risk and operational teams.\n\nPackage & Remuneration\n\n 6 to 12-month contract\n\n Centurion / Hybrid\n\n Competitive hourly contract rate, based on experience and technical
