In essence, Resource Teachers play a vital role in teaching and empowering students to succeed.\n***They will service either Science/Math or English/Social Studies students.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nResource Teacher Responsibilities & Duties\nDevelop and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs.\nCollaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning and provide differentiated instruction.\nAssess and evaluate student progress, keeping accurate records and providing regular updates to parents and guardians.\nProvide one-on-one and small group instruction to students.\nParticipate in IEP meetings and other relevant meetings with parents, teachers, and school administrators.\nSupport the integration of technology into the classroom to enhance student learning.\nStay up-to-date with developments in education and best practices for working with students with diverse needs.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nAssist individual or small groups of students reinforcing instruction in basic academic subjects; confer with the teacher concerning lesson plans and materials to meet student needs; oversee student drills, practices and assignments in various subjects.\nAssist students in completing classroom assignments, applications, homework and projects in various academic subjects; work independently with students in an ISS classroom; proctor, administer tests or assessments.\nContributes to organization success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team results.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nResource Teacher Qualifications & Skills\nMaster's degree in Special Education or a related field\nExperience working with students with a variety of special needs\nStrong knowledge of IEP development and implementation\nProficiency in assistive technology and adaptive educational tools\nExcellent organizational and time-management skills\nAbility to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team\nEffective communication skills with students, parents, and staff\nFamiliarity with educational software and learning management systems\nBachelor’s degree in education, Special Education, or related field\nState certification as a Resource Teacher\n3+ years of experience in a Resource Teacher role\nProven track record of positively impacting student outcomes\nExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills\nAbility to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents\nPassion for helping students with diverse learning needs reach their full potential\nSpecial Schedule\nNormal business hours: At times, must be willing to work in beyond normal business hours as needed by operational needs and event schedules.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\nKNOWLEDGE OF:\nAdolescence guidance principles, practices and teen behavior characteristics, especially as they relate to students with special learning needs, emotional and behavior disorders. Basic methods of individual and group supervision. Basic subjects taught in local schools, including arithmetic, grammar, spelling, language, vocabulary, science and reading. Basic instructional methods and techniques. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct. Operation of standard office and classroom equipment including a computer and assigned software.
