Join us at Easterseals NY- Bronx Child Development Center for an exciting career as a Teacher Assistant\n*10 month position with the option to work summer (extended school year)*\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Teacher Assistant for our preschool program you will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and assist in caring for the physical and emotional needs of students. You will supervise class when the teacher is involved in other activities and attend staffing and departmental in-service as assigned.\nYour Responsibilities Will Include:\nAid the transfer of children to and from buses each day assuring all students are where they need to be at all times\n\nPerform checks of children as they arrive at school to assure physical health and document any issues\n\nWork as a team member with the teacher and other teacher assistants designing developmentally appropriate activities for children to aid holistic development\n\nPrepare the classroom each day for activities planned\n\nMaintain a clean environment at all times after activities\n\nParticipate in group activities for students\n\nWork with individual students on activities specified in their IEP\n\nAid children as necessary during meal and snack times\n\nAssure children transfer safely withing the building and to the playground and back- maintaining face recognition procedures at all times\n\nUtilize PBIS and social/emotional learning strategies with all children\n\nHelp children regulate their behavior when necessary\n\nParticipate in meeting and staff development provided\n\nYou're a great fit for this role if you have:\nHigh School education or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred.\nTwo (2) years practical experience working with children is preferred.\nLevel I NYS Teacher Assistant Certification.\nCompensation & Benefits\nCompensation\n$18.00-$23.00 per hour (depending on experience)\n\nWho We Are\nEasterseals is a standard-bearer for creating equity and access for people with disabilities and other barriers to long term self-sufficiency.
