That's why we make it a priority to remind ourselves to create space to celebrate wins, big or small.\nJob Summary:\nThe Senior Accountant is responsible for GAAP compliant accounting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial data.\nThe role will support financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.\nRequirements\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nGeneral Accounting\nManage all general ledger transactions.\nPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.\nPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nManage and reconcile large and complex data sets to ensure financial accuracy.\nAnalyze discrepancies and resolve data variances in a timely manner.\nCollaborate with internal teams to streamline reconciliation processes.\nSales Tax Reporting:\nPrepare, file, and reconcile sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.\nResearch and ensure compliance with state and local sales tax regulations.\nLiaise with tax authorities to resolve discrepancies or inquiries.\nCompliance and Internal Controls:\nEnsure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.\nSupport the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.\nDevelop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.\nTeam Collaboration:\nSupport and mentor junior accountants and staff as needed.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives.\nOther duties as assigned/necessary\nPerformance Metrics:\nAccuracy and Timeliness of Financial Reporting:\nDeliver accurate monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules within 8 days of month-end.\nMaintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, with no significant errors or findings during audits.\nSales Tax Compliance:\nScale sales tax accounting with growth of the company (including managing sales tax software).\nEnsure on-time filing and payment of sales and use tax returns with zero penalties or late fees.\nAccurately address and resolve any discrepancies or tax notices within 10 business days.\nReconciliation Accuracy and Efficiency:\nComplete all reconciliations of large and complex data sets with 99% accuracy and within 8 days of month-end.\nIdentify and resolve variances promptly, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed within 8 business days.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nProficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nExcellent communication and organizational skills.\nMust be 18 years of age or older\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.\n5 years of accounting experience.\nExperience with sales tax reporting, reconciliations of large data sets, and treasury management.\nCPA designation strongly preferred.\nExperience in healthcare or long-term care insurance industries is a plus!\n Physical Requirements:\nAbility to remain at your designated workstation for the duration of the workday\nConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a phone and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).\nThe ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
