Develop and help implement global EHS policies and programs. Participate in EHS assessments of global facilities and provide guidance to EHS Managers, supervisors and other functional teams. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all levels of management and employees. Participate/provide leadership on multifunctional teams to provide EHS support and guidance. Work with numerous internal customers. Interact with local, state/provincial, and federal level regulators.\nWhat will you do?\nCompliance:\nMaintain technical proficiency in key safety areas. Serve as general resource for program areas. Deliver EHS training programs to all levels of management and employees. Provide technical guidance on specific EHS issues to Managers, supervisors and other functional teams to ensure compliance. \nAuditing:\nPerform inspections of EHS procedures, facilities and programs to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements and risk reduction management. Report on findings and work with plant management to develop action plans to address deficiencies. Support corporate team and other staff to ensure action plans are implemented and necessary follow up occurs. \nIncident Management: \nIndependently executes investigations and analyzes incidents to identify trends in people EHS information. Initiates corrective and preventative action plans, and communicates findings as appropriate. Assists BU Managers and supervisors to determine resolution and implement corrective and preventive actions. Uses various computer support systems (ex. Vector EH&S, SharePoint, PowerBI) to document data. Act as a liaison between the Workers Compensation Carrier and Health Services to manage workers compensation.\nEHS Management System & Continuous Improvement: \nAssists with the development, implementation and monitoring of Safety Management System aspects and written program documentation. Conducts regular written program reviews and prepares updates. Performs regular internal audits and documents and reports findings and follows-up on non-conformances. Participate/lead verification and validation activities for Safety Management System aspects and safety regulatory compliance.\nProject / Business Unit Support: \nDrive continuous improvement through utilization of EHS program elements such as Heart Team, Safety Teams, Near Miss Program, Corrective and Preventive Action initiatives, work orders, QDR, Stage Gate and Pre-start up reviews for engineering projects, and other risk reduction programs. Leads EHS documentation Teams and prepares documents as necessary. Leads and/or participates on multifunctional improvement teams to provide EHS guidance and problem solving. Interact with project managers to ensure EHS issues are identified early in the project design and development process and are evaluated and addressed. \nTraining: \nCreate and implement EHS training programs and informational materials as required to convey EHS policies and procedures for new hire orientation, on-going regulatory requirements and specialized training. \nMinimum Requirements\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree in Occupational/Industrial safety, Environmental or Safety Engineering, Human Factors or other EHS related field preferred. Equivalent related work experience will be considered\nExperience:\nPreference for 0 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment related to EHS program management. \nPreference for food, food-related or consumer package goods experience.\nExperience in Safety Management System (VPP, OHSAS 18001, ANSI Z10) is a plus\nDetailed working knowledge of federal, state and local occupational safety industry regulations and guidelines (OSHA, EPA, L&I, other)\nStrong document management skills and attention to details\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills\nStrong problem solving/trouble shooting skills\nStrong auditing / assessment skills\nStrong leadership skills and ability to influence all levels of employees\nProficiency in computer programs / software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Power Point, Vector EH&S and SAP PM\nMust have the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple priorities.\nAbility to self-lead work tasks to completion.\nMust be able to work well in a team environment but also have the ability to work independently.\nMust have strong employee training development and presentation skills.\nFlexibility is key in this role as priorities change quickly.
