They will keep track of new and updated regulations that may affect Private Brand product categories and monitor projects to ensure products sold meet these regulations. They will work with 3rd party test laboratories to write, review and update protocols to ensure safety and regulatory requirements are met through the onboarding process. The Engineer will work to align cross functional teams for new and existing processes across business units.\nKey Responsibilities:\n30% Engineering project management including product requirement development, and test protocol development\n20% Conduct financial and value based calculations, summarize the findings for the business in presentation quality format and communicate findings to key stakeholders\n40% Complete resolution of product performance concerns\n10% Provide general product Engineering guidance and knowledge or evaluations as required to deliver short term business goals\nDirect Manager/Direct Reports:\nThis position reports to Manager\nThis position has no Direct Reports\nTravel Requirements:\nTypically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.\n Physical Requirements:\nMost all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).\nWorking Conditions:\nLocated in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMust be eighteen years of age or older.\nMust be legally permitted to work in the United States.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent in a field of study related to the job\nMasters of Business Administration\nProduct costing experience\nExtensive understanding of Bills of Materials\nKnowledge of Merchandising Financial terms\nKnowledge of INCO shipping terms\nExperience working in a manufacturing and/or product development environment including design for reduced Manufacturing and Assembly costs\nExperience working with OEM suppliers through the product development cycle\nExperience working with vertically integrated manufacturers\nBusiness acumen and understanding of Merchandising\nAbility to use costing software such as Boothroyd Dewhurst DFM/DFMA\nMinimum Education:\nThe knowledge, skills and abilities
