This role is the foundation of a well-run bar, ensuring bartenders have everything they need (ice, glassware, garnishes, and fully stocked product) so they can focus on crafting drinks and connecting with members. From restocking and organizing to cleaning and breakdown, this role plays an important part in delivering seamless, polished service.\nThe ideal candidate is energetic, observant, and team-first, with a keen sense of urgency and a genuine interest in learning the craft of hospitality from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career behind the bar within a new and growing hospitality concept.\nKey Responsibilities\nBar Setup & Restocking\nSet up bar stations before service, including ice, garnishes, glassware, bar tools, napkins, and service supplies, according to The June’s standards.\nKeep the bar fully stocked throughout service, including liquor, wine, beer, mixers, juices, and non-alcoholic beverages.\nPrepare garnishes, fresh juices, syrups, and other bar components to specification, as directed by the bartenders.\nChange kegs and restock beer, wine, and spirits promptly during service, with minimal disruption to the bartenders and members.\nMonitor par levels and communicate low inventory or supply needs to the bartender or Bar Manager.\nCleanliness & Sanitation\nMaintain a clean, organized, and well-presented bar throughout service, including wiping down surfaces, bar mats, and back bar displays.\nWash, polish, and put away glassware, bar tools, and equipment according to established sanitation standards.\nClear empty glassware, bottles, and debris from the bar and service areas promptly and quietly.\nRemove trash, recycling, and empty bottles, and keep storage and waste areas clean and organized.\nFollow all food safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.\nOperational Support\nAssist bartenders and servers with beverage-related tasks during busy periods as directed.\nSupport deliveries by receiving, checking, and storing beverage orders, and rotating stock properly.\nAssist with inventory counts, organization of storage areas, and maintaining accurate stock locations.\nHelp set up and break down bars for private events, programming, and special occasions.\nSupport opening and closing procedures, including breakdown, cleaning, and resetting the bar for the next service.\nTeamwork & Professionalism\nWork collaboratively with bartenders, servers, runners, and kitchen team members to keep service moving.\nAnticipate needs before they are voiced, and communicate clearly and calmly during busy periods.\nReceive feedback constructively and look for opportunities to learn the bar program, including cocktails, wine, and spirits.\nHandle all member and guest interactions with warmth and discretion, and represent The June’s standards at all times.\nContribute to a culture of accountability, respect, and high standards across The June.\nQualifications\nPrevious experience as a barback, bar support, or in a similar hospitality role preferred, though we are happy to train the right person.\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized bar.\nReliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, move kegs and cases using proper technique and equipment, and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.\nAbility to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse team.\nCurrent food safety and alcohol service certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire).\nFlexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.\nA proactive, team-first mindset and willingness to jump in wherever support is needed.\nNice to Have\nExperience working in a high-volume bar, restaurant, hotel, or private club.\nBasic knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and classic cocktails.\nInterest in growing into a bartender role.\nExperience supporting a restaurant or bar opening or pre-opening training program.\nAt The June, great hospitality starts behind the bar.
