These displays serve as the primary interaction point between the crane operator and the machine's control system.\nPrimary responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing user interface applications using Qt/QML and C++, integrating display software with crane control systems over Ethernet networks, and supporting software verification and validation activities.\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software for Linux-based operator display systems.\n\nDevelop graphical user interfaces using Qt and QML technologies.\n\nCollaborate with controls, systems, and software engineers to implement new features and product improvements.\n\nSupport integration of display applications with distributed control systems utilizing Ethernet and CAN-based communications.\n\nParticipate in software verification activities using simulation environments, test benches, and crane testing.\n\nAssist in developing software requirements, test plans, and technical documentation.\n\nInvestigate software issues and support troubleshooting activities during development and production.\n\nCommunicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to project teams.\n\nWork safely and comply with all company safety policies and training requirements.\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.\n\nCoursework and/or experience using C++ through academic projects, internships, co-ops, personal projects, or professional work.\n\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming principles.\n\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills using debugging tools like GDB and Valgrind.\n\nFamiliarity with source control tools such as Git.\n\nInterest in embedded systems, Linux, and user interface development.\n\nPreferred\nExperience with Qt and/or QML.\n\nExperience working in a Linux development environment.\n\nKnowledge of Ethernet networking fundamentals.\n\nFamiliarity with MQTT or client/server software architectures.\n\nFamiliarity with embedded systems and real-time software concepts.\n\nFamiliarity with software development practices such as source control, code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.\n\nKnowledge of CAN communications, J1939, or CANopen.\n\nExperience with Python, Jenkins, XML.\n\nInternship, co-op, Formula SAE, robotics, senior design, or personal software development projects.\n\nFamiliarity with databases such as SWL and SWLite.\n\nComfortable using Linux Command Line tools.\n\nKnowledge about applying AI-assisted development tools for software design, code generation, verification, debugging, and documentation.\n\nExperience working in a team with other developers and contributors.\n\nThe Manitowoc Company, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer -
