The interns will assist the Development team with a wide-range of responsibilities during the program. The internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated students with a genuine desire to learn about the real estate business and industry. During the program, you will work on real projects and have real responsibilities! Michaels aims to help candidates build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd!\nWork Schedule:\nMonday through Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM for a total of 35 hours\nBased out of our Camden, NJ headquarters (5x a week)\nHighlights of the Internship include:\nWork alongside other interns across various majors and universities\nLearn from our more experienced team members and best-in-class leaders in the real estate community\nParticipate in company-wide and departmental meeting and events and a variety of social, professional and networking opportunities\nResponsibilities\nThe Real Estate Development Interns will work collaboratively with the Development department, focusing on pre-development activities. This includes performing analysis of proposed multifamily real estate developments that qualify for low-income housing tax credits. The Development Interns work in a collaborative environment on the underwriting, pursuit, closing and delivery of multiple affordable housing projects. The Development intern will assist the Vice Presidents of Development in special projects.\nCLICK HERE to hear from last years' interns on their experiences!\nQualifications\nProgress towards a bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or in another quantitative or business-related field but not required)'\nStrong problems solving skills and a desire to put them to use in a meaningful way\nThe intellectual curiosity to truly learn about all aspects of our business and new tools/skills\nExcellent time management and organizational ability\nA diligent work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced environment that supports a balance of independent work and team collaboration\nStrong analytical, research, financial modeling, and presentation skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint.\nKnowledge of financial modeling, cash flow analysis and sensitivity analysis utilizing NPV and IRR.\nSalary Range Information\nThe range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position.
