lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.\nDesign and build maintainable, scalable Python services, APIs, and data pipelines.\nCapture business requirements and translate them into robust software solutions and architectures.\nTake ownership of technical work, delivering high-quality solutions on time and to budget.\nCollaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and business users across McLaren Racing.\nProduce reliable effort estimates and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.\nContribute to engineering best practices, standards, and development methodologies.\nStay current with emerging technologies and share knowledge across the wider team.\nAdditionally, at Senior Specialist level\nProvide technical leadership across projects and larger workstreams.\nContribute to technical roadmaps and longer-term planning activities.\nMentor and support other engineers.\nIdentify and mitigate technical risks looking for experienced Python Software Engineers to join our Software & Data Science team on a fixed-term contract basis and help deliver Factory Flow, one of the most significant technology and business transformation programmes at McLaren Racing.\nThis is an opportunity to work on software that directly impacts how we design, manufacture, and race Formula 1 cars.\nQualifications\nStrong commercial experience developing software using Python.\nExperience building Python back-end services, APIs, and/or data pipelines.\nExperience delivering software solutions using agile methodologies and software engineering best practices.\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and engineering principles, including SOLID.\nProven ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop practical, scalable solutions.\nComfortable taking ownership of workstreams and driving delivery with minimal supervision.\nExperience with Git-based workflows, Azure DevOps (or similar), and SQL or document databases.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nDesirable Experience\nCloud platforms and distributed systems.\nMicroservices architectures.\nKubernetes and containerised deployments.\nKafka or event-driven architectures.\nFront-end technologies such as React.\nExperience working within engineering, manufacturing,
