Our expertise allows us to seamlessly distribute pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other healthcare products to consumers, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience.\nJob Summary:\nThe Sterile Compounding Technician prepares sterile and hazardous compounded medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, following USP <795>, <797>, standards and all applicable state Board of Pharmacy regulations. This role requires precision, strict aseptic technique, and consistent compliance with safety and quality procedures in a controlled cleanroom environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare sterile compounded preparations (injectables, IV admixtures, ophthalmics, etc.) using proper aseptic technique in ISO-classified cleanrooms, per USP <795>/<797>.\nCompound using the correct Containment Primary Engineering Control (C-PEC) and Containment Secondary Engineering Control (C-SEC).\nSelect and don correct drug PPE and follow spill-management and deactivation/decontamination procedures.\nPerform and document required garbing/gowning, hand hygiene, and disinfection of compounding areas and equipment before each batch.\nAccurately measure, mix, and prepare compounds according to physician orders and master formulation records.\nPerform quality checks (visual inspection, calculations, gravimetric/volumetric verification) prior to pharmacist final verification.\nMaintain accurate compounding logs, batch records, and beyond-use dating (BUD) documentation.\nMonitor and document cleanroom environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure differentials) and equipment certifications (biological safety cabinets, isolators).\nManage inventory of sterile compounding supplies, APIs, including proper storage, handling, and disposal per applicable DEA waste requirements.\nComplete ongoing competency assessments (media-fill testing, gloved fingertip/thumb sampling, garbing competency) per USP requirements.\nImmediately flag discrepancies, out-of-range results, or compounding errors to the supervising pharmacist.\nMaintain a clean, organized, compliant work area and support routine cleaning/disinfection schedules and cleanroom certifications.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nActive Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT.\n\nActive state pharmacy technician registration/license in good standing.\n\nMinimum 1-2 years of hands-on sterile compounding experience in a hospital, compounding pharmacy, or 503A/503B facility.\n\nDemonstrated working knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, standards.\n\nCurrent (or able to complete within 30 days of hire) garbing competency, media-fill testing, and gloved fingertip/thumb sampling per USP <797>.\n\nHands-on experience with drug handling, PPE selection, and spill-response procedures.\n\nStrong attention to detail and accurate calculation skills (dosages, dilutions, concentrations).\n\nAbility to work in a controlled cleanroom environment requiring full PPE/garbing for extended periods.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and pharmacist collaboration.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's degree or completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.\n\nPrior experience in a 503A or 503B outsourcing compounding pharmacy.\n\nExperience with automated compounding devices, IV robotics, or gravimetric workflow software.\n\nAdditional sterile compounding credential beyond base CPhT certification.\n\nExperience with electronic batch record and pharmacy compounding software.\n\nBilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.\n\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to a full shift) in a cleanroom environment.\n\nAbility to wear full PPE/garbing (gown, gloves, mask, hair/beard covers, shoe covers)\n\nManual dexterity for precise measuring, mixing, and handling of small vials, syringes, and equipment.\n\nAbility to lift/carry up to 25-40 lbs (supply totes, boxes).\n\nExposure to chemicals, and cleaning/disinfecting agents;
