As a Network Specialist (gn), you are responsible for the stable and secure operation of our cross-site network infrastructure and continuously develop it further. You operate between day-to-day operations and the implementation of new solutions: you analyze and resolve incidents, optimize existing environments, and support changes as well as rollouts. You work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring consistent standards and a high level of availability and performance across our systems.

Your mission

  • You ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing network operation across multiple locations
  • You design, implement, and continuously improve our network architecture (LAN, WAN, WLAN) as well as secure access solutions for users, sites, and cloud environments (e g remote access, SASE)
  • You are responsible for the operation, optimization, and lifecycle management of our network environment (switches, routers, firewalls)
  • You analyze network incidents and resolve them sustainably in 2nd and 3rd level support
  • You proactively monitor network performance, optimize systems, and plan capacities ahead
  • You contribute to the definition and establishment of network standards and security policies
  • You maintain and further develop technical documentation and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners

Your experience & skills

  • You have a degree or vocational training in computer science, network engineering, or a comparable qualification and bring solid experience in operating and developing network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN) as well as knowledge of modern access concepts (e g SASE)
  • You have strong knowledge of TCP/IP and solid experience in routing and switching (e g VLAN, STP)
  • You have experience operating and configuring network and security solutions, ideally with Cisco (especially Meraki) and Check Point
  • You have a strong understanding of network security concepts (e g access control, segmentation, policy design)
  • You are experienced in troubleshooting complex network environments and working with monitoring and analysis tools (e g Checkmk)
  • Ideally, you have experience in OT (Operational Technology) environments
  • You work in a structured and analytical way, are a team player, and communicate confidently in German and English
