See who we are at https://theshipyard.com/culture before you hit apply!\nSUMMARY\nWe are looking for a curious, motivated Integrated Communications Intern to join our Columbus, OH team part-time, working 20-24 hours per week. This paid internship ($18/hour) offers hands-on exposure to the intersection of paid, earned, owned, and shared media channels while supporting the company's existing client relationships.\nThis is a hybrid work from home/office position (in-office attendance is required on Tuesdays & Thursdays) and the candidate must live near Columbus, OH.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nConduct new business and client/competitor research and analysis\nDevelop media lists, influencer lists, editorial calendars, and media results reports\nParticipate in internal team and client meetings\nWrite news releases, website copy, fact sheets, collateral copy, social media content, and other materials; support development of integrated campaign materials, including case studies\nConduct social media and brand research, as well as audits\nInteract with local, trade, and national media, as well as influencers, when appropriate\nOther duties as assigned \nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\nCurrent enrollment in higher education (college, university, or vocational/technical program), prior completion of one, or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus, but not required. We welcome career changers as well!\nPrior internship experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism is a plus\nStrong research, writing, organizational, and time management skills\nA proven understanding of marketing and communications, social media, digital and traditional media\nExcellent communication skills; proficiency using AP Style is preferred\nSolid critical thinking skills and the ability to take initiative\nAbility to work independently and in team settings within an in-person and/or hybrid setting\nExcellent attention to detail, including proofreading\nA positive attitude and drive\nStrong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills \nGROWTH OPPORTUNITIES\nExposure to a broad agency setting spanning communications, marketing, strategic planning, media, creative, and digital disciplines\nExperience across a range of industries, including consumer, non-profit, B2B, education, healthcare, retail, technology, and economic development/tourism accounts\nAbility to tailor the internship program to individual needs\nOpportunity to develop proficiency with leading-edge research tools, including Muck Rack and Critical Mention\nOpportunity to write creative, digital, and media briefs, and blog posts\nOne-on-one mentoring with designated team members\nExposure to a variety of focus areas, including account management, media relations, internal communications, strategic research, branding, brand planning, crisis communications, social media, influencer marketing, digital marketing, media planning and
