We seek leaders who are passionate about hospitality, committed to developing strong teams, and ready to take the next step in their restaurant management career.\nRestaurant Snapshot\nCO-OP Restaurant & Lounge - Located within The Study at University City\nApproximately 120-seat restaurant and lounge\nBreakfast, lunch, dinner, bar service, room service, and private dining\nSupports food & beverage service for 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space\nFast-paced operation serving university, corporate, hotel, and neighborhood guests\nResponsibilities\nSupport the daily front-of-house operation, maintaining a visible leadership presence throughout service.\nLead assigned shifts and help ensure the restaurant is properly prepared, staffed, and organized for each service period.\nSupport the Restaurant General Manager in executing departmental goals, service standards, and operational initiatives.\nCoach, train, and provide ongoing feedback to front-of-house team members while reinforcing accountability, teamwork, and professional development.\nMonitor the guest experience throughout service and respond promptly and professionally to concerns and service recovery opportunities.\nSupport restaurant, lounge, room service, and private dining operations to ensure consistent and seamless service.\nAssist with team scheduling, daily staffing decisions, and labor management based on business levels.\nSupport opening and closing procedures, cash handling, shift documentation, and operational reporting.\nAssist with beverage inventory, purchasing, receiving, and cost-control procedures.\nMaintain awareness of restaurant financial performance, including labor, food and beverage costs, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.\nPartner closely with culinary leadership and team members to maintain effective communication and coordination between front- and back-of-house operations.\nSupport reservations, special events, promotions, and guest engagement initiatives.\nEnsure team members follow established food safety, responsible alcohol service, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.\nMaintain a clean, safe, organized, and guest-ready restaurant environment.\nServe as a positive example of genuine hospitality, professionalism, and teamwork during every shift.\nFundamentals\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business education preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of restaurant experience, including supervisory, lead, or management experience in a fine dining, upscale casual, or hotel restaurant environment.\nDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate front-of-house team members in a fast-paced service environment.\nWorking knowledge of restaurant operations, including scheduling, labor management, inventory, beverage controls, and cash handling.\nFood safety and responsible alcohol service certifications preferred or ability to obtain required certifications upon hire.\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable leadership style.\nAbility to remain composed, visible, and engaged during high-volume service periods.\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nProficiency with restaurant POS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications preferred.\nAbility to lift or carry items up to 40 pounds.\nAbility to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.\nAbout Us\nThe Study at University City is a 212-room hotel at the crossroads of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University in the heart of University City, Philadelphia.
