We welcome dependable, team-oriented individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate attention to detail, and understand the importance of a clean and well-organized kitchen.\nResponsibilities\nOperate and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation of dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils.\nMonitor dish machine performance, including detergent levels, water temperatures, and sanitation requirements.\nWash pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen equipment by hand as needed.\nProperly clean, organize, and store all tableware, cookware, and kitchen utensils to prevent damage or breakage.\nMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing stations, kitchen floors, equipment, and surrounding work areas.\nEnsure a consistent supply of clean dishes, utensils, and cookware to support restaurant and culinary operations.\nCollect, bag, transport, and dispose of kitchen waste and recycling in designated areas.\nMonitor and replenish dishwashing chemicals, cleaning products, and related supplies.\nFollow established food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.\nPromptly report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.\nAssist with cleaning food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and storage spaces.\nSupport culinary team members with basic food preparation, stocking, and organizational tasks as directed.\nAssist with kitchen cleaning and equipment needs associated with banquets and private events.\nWork collaboratively with culinary and restaurant team members to support efficient daily operations.\nFundamentals\nPrevious dishwashing, kitchen utility, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.\nAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.\nStrong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety.\nAbility to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently when needed.\nEffective communication skills and a willingness to assist fellow team members.\nFlexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and move items weighing up to 60 pounds.\nAbility to work in an indoor kitchen environment with exposure to heat, moisture, and cleaning chemicals.\nAbout Us\nThe Study at University City is a 212-room hotel located at the crossroads of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University in the heart of University City in Philadelphia.
