This position plays an important role in ensuring a seamless guest experience, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing the hotel for the following business day.\nThe Night Auditor is responsible for managing guest arrivals and departures, responding to overnight guest needs, reconciling daily financial transactions, and completing the hotel's end-of-day accounting procedures. Working independently during overnight hours, this individual must demonstrate sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional when addressing guest concerns or unexpected situations.\nOur caring and attentive associates reinforce our belief that guest service is our highest priority. We seek service-oriented individuals who take pride in accuracy, accountability, and creating a welcoming and secure environment for every guest.\nResponsibilities\nProvide warm, professional, and efficient hospitality to guests throughout the overnight shift.\nComplete guest check-in and check-out procedures, including room assignments, payment processing, and accurate reservation management.\nRespond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, providing thoughtful solutions and appropriate service recovery.\nManage incoming telephone calls, reservations, and guest communications while accurately providing hotel information and rates.\nMaintain accurate room inventory, reservation records, guest accounts, and room availability within the property management system (PMS).\nPerform daily financial reconciliation, including reviewing room charges, payments, adjustments, and other transactions for accuracy.\nComplete the nightly audit process, including balancing financial reports, reconciling payment transactions, and identifying and resolving discrepancies.\nExecute the end-of-day process within the PMS, advancing the hotel to the next business day and ensuring all required reports are completed and distributed.\nReview and reconcile credit card transactions, cash payments, and other forms of payment in accordance with established procedures.\nPrepare accurate daily financial and operational reports for hotel management and applicable departments.\nMaintain detailed records of overnight activities, guest concerns, incidents, and outstanding items requiring follow-up.\nCoordinate with Housekeeping, Building Maintenance, Security, and other departments to address guest needs and operational concerns.\nMonitor overnight hotel activity, maintain awareness of guest and team member safety, and follow established security and emergency procedures.\nServe as the primary point of contact for overnight operational matters, escalating significant concerns to management as appropriate.\nCommunicate important information and unresolved matters to the incoming morning team to ensure a seamless transition between shifts.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Front Desk and Living Room environment.\nFollow all Study Hotels policies, procedures, cash-handling standards, and guest confidentiality requirements.\nPerform additional guest services and operational duties as assigned.\nFundamentals\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nAt least one year of hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred.\nExperience with hotel property management systems and daily financial reconciliation preferred.\nStrong mathematical aptitude and ability to accurately review financial transactions, calculate adjustments, and identify discrepancies.\nIntermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor.\nAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and resolve guest concerns with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality when handling guest information, financial records, and sensitive operational matters.\nAbility to remain calm, composed, and service-focused during emergencies or challenging guest interactions.\nAbility to communicate effectively in English to support guest interactions, operational reporting, and emergency procedures. Additional language skills are valued.\nAvailability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.\nAbility to stand for extended periods and perform duties in an indoor, climate-controlled environment.\nAbility to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nAbout Us\nThe Study at University City is a 212-room hotel located at the crossroads of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University in the heart of University City in Philadelphia.
