Relocation assistance may be available for the successful candidate who is required to move to the area.\nWhy Join Sutherland Heavy Civil?\nMeaningful work on civil construction, mining, and infrastructure projects \nCompetitive pay, comprehensive rewards and benefits \nQuality equipment, resources, and support to help you perform at your best \nOpportunities to build a long-term career, not just a job \nA team-first culture built on safety, respect, and accountability \nLocal roots and proud supporters of the communities where we live and work \nCompensation & Schedule\n$110,000 per year (negotiable)\nCompensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the requirements of the role.\nResponsibilities\nLead Fleet Maintenance Operations across multiple business units and locations, providing leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance teams. \nDrive a Strong Safety Culture by promoting accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards. \nManage Preventative & Predictive Maintenance Programs to maximize fleet availability and minimize equipment downtime. \nImprove Fleet Reliability and Asset Performance by enhancing equipment uptime, lifecycle management, and overall operational efficiency. \nAnalyze Maintenance Data and KPIs to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. \nCoordinate Maintenance Planning and Scheduling to ensure equipment availability aligns with operational and business requirements. \nDevelop and Optimize Maintenance Systems including processes, reporting tools, performance metrics, and maintenance tracking programs. \nManage Vendor and Contractor Relationships with dealerships, suppliers, repair facilities, and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective support. \nEnsure Regulatory Compliance and Financial Stewardship by maintaining compliance with policies and regulations while managing maintenance budgets and cost-control initiatives. \nSupport Safe and Efficient Operations through hazard awareness, risk mitigation, and proactive protection of employees, equipment, and communities. \nQualifications\n7-10 years of progressive fleet, transportation, or heavy equipment maintenance experience, including 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience. \nStrong expertise in preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and fleet performance optimization. \nProven experience managing heavy-duty truck fleets, trailers, and mobile equipment, with the ability to analyze maintenance KPIs, cost trends, and operational data. \nSolid knowledge of transportation regulations, commercial vehicle requirements, occupational health & safety standards, and regulatory compliance, with a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and willingness to travel. \nPreferred qualifications include a Journeyperson trade certification, post-secondary education in a related field, and experience in forestry, bulk transportation, multi-site maintenance operations, project management, and capital planning. \nBenefits & Total Rewards\nExtended health, dental and vision \nLife and travel insurance coverages \nComprehensive wellness and paramedical support \nEmployee assistance program \nGenerous pension matching \nReferral bonus opportunities \nAbout Sutherland Heavy Civil\nSutherland Heavy Civil is a broad-based forestry services provider with a strong focus on environmentally responsible and sustainable practices.
