This role is responsible for conducting both static and dynamic malware analysis, identifying indicators of compromise, developing mitigation strategies, and producing technical reporting to support cyber defense operations.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct static and dynamic analysis of suspicious and malicious code to determine capabilities, behavior, and potential impact.\nAnalyze malware execution through host and network monitoring to identify propagation techniques and intrusion-related artifacts.\nExamine audit logs, network traffic, and captured data to identify indicators of compromise and support incident investigations.\nResearch operating system-specific exploitation techniques and malware attack vectors.\nUtilize scripting languages, reverse engineering tools, and virtual environments to analyze malicious code.\nDevelop technical reports documenting malware capabilities, vulnerabilities, indicators of compromise, and recommended mitigation strategies.\nCreate malware signatures, detection rules, and analytical techniques to improve identification and response efforts.\nCorrelate data from multiple sources to identify threat actors and emerging threats.\nCollaborate with internal and external partners to develop new malware detection methodologies, processes, and tools.\nCommunicate technical findings clearly through written reports and verbal briefings.\nSupport continuous monitoring of malware threats across enterprise networks, hosts, mission platforms, and boundary systems.\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\nFive (5) years of cybersecurity experience.\nThree (3) years of malware analysis experience, including static and dynamic analysis.\nExperience using malware analysis or reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, Sysinternals, FireEye AX, or similar technologies.\nExperience developing scripts or software using Python, C/C++, Lua, Ruby, or similar languages.\nExperience analyzing host artifacts, network traffic, system logs, and malware behavior to identify indicators of compromise.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce technical reports and recommend mitigation strategies.\nUS citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required\nRequired Certifications:\nActive DoD 8570 compliance with:CSSP Analyst baseline certification\nIAT Level II or Level III certification\n\nGIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification.\nDesired Experience:\nReverse engineering of malware using industry-standard tools.\nThreat hunting and malware detection engineering.\nDevelopment of malware detection signatures and analytical methodologies.\nExperience supporting enterprise cyber defense or Security Operations Center (SOC) environments.\nThe Swift Group and Subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
