The technical work is hands-on, lab discovery focused, and multi-disciplinary. The work location is the Tidewater region of Virginia.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, install, test, and maintain secure operating systems, networks, and database environments\nSupport a wide range of network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, routers, bridges, gateways, servers, telecommunications components, and network management systems\nConduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for secure application and system design\nTroubleshoot cybersecurity issues involving architecture, firewalls, data traffic, and access controls\nAnalyze systems for malware, misuse, and unauthorized activity, and provide network-based intrusion detection support\nApply encryption technologies, perform penetration testing, and conduct vulnerability and security research\nTranslate customer or product requirements into comprehensive systems solutions aligned with technical, schedule, and cost constraints\nEstablish and maintain system baselines and configuration management standards\nIntegrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures; develop cybersecurity architectural artifacts; embed forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction; and resolve integration and testing challenges\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred); equivalent experience considered\n10+ years of combined network engineering and cybersecurity experience\nStrong understanding of DNS, firewall rules, routing protocols, and streaming protocols\nExperience integrating nonstandard technologies with IP-based networks\nExperience installing, configuring, maintaining, and removing network equipment across a wide range of manufacturers (beyond traditional vendors such as Cisco and Juniper)\nExperience managing wireless access points and point to point wireless systems\nHands-on knowledge of installing and terminating copper and fiber media, including pulling cable through conduit\nProficiency using network analysis tools, along with experience using power tools and hand tools\nKnowledge of cybersecurity-related ICDs, including ICD 503\nStrong ability to present technical approaches and findings clearly\nAbility to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups\nUS citizenship and active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance\n#Onsite\nThe Swift Group and Subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
