The ideal candidate will design technical solutions for complex challenges and provide technical oversight throughout project execution. This role includes interpreting requirements, mapping them to technical components, and establishing processes to support successful implementation. The engineer will ensure all solutions follow industry best practices, emphasize strong security, and minimize total cost of ownership. Responsibilities also include assessing internal and external customer IT infrastructure needs and developing solutions such as capacity planning, system configuration and tuning, backup monitoring, and hardware and software installations.\nResponsibilities:\nManage and execute network installation and engineering tasks, including configuring and maintaining LAN and WAN equipment such as firewalls, routers, switches, servers, workstations, storage devices, A/V equipment, and equipment racks.\nPlan network architectures, design layouts, and configure systems to support user and organizational requirements.\nConduct expert-level analysis of voice, video, and data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.\nDefine, maintain, and enhance the overall security posture of the network environment.\nPerform security audits, assess system health, and implement corrective actions to strengthen the program’s security posture.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including “build-to” and “as-built” documents, implementation guides, and test plans for physical and logical IT installations.\nParticipate in technical system planning that extends beyond the network, ensuring alignment with applications and systems that rely on the delivered network.\nProvide Tier I, II, and III technical support, including troubleshooting and resolving network issues across a broad range of systems.\nRequirements:\nBS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience\n10+ years of related Networking Engineering experience \n10+ years experience designing, engineering, and deploying controlled interfaces\nMore than 10 years of experience deploying and managing Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper firewall manager servers\nExtensive experience designing, engineering, and deploying multi-firewall solutions\nExperience deploying firewalls in multicast network environments\nExperience designing, engineering, and deploying firewall vendor transitioning plans\nStrong understanding of allowing voice and video traffic across port-based firewalls and NGFW platforms\n8+ years configuring and maintaining Cisco ASA and Next-Generation Firewalls\nExperience with IPsec site-to-site VPNs utilizing PKI (CA)\nExperience deploying and supporting Remote Access VPN solutions \n7+ years configuring, designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN devices\nDeep understanding of routing protocols and concepts including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and IP MPLS \nExperience designing, engineering, and deploying firewalls in a multicast network \nBasic understanding of QoS concepts\nExperience with network monitoring technologies\nProven ability to transform ambiguous requirements or problems into clear, actionable technical solutions\nSkilled at collaborating with system administrators, storage administrators, and application developers to resolve complex issues\nStrong experience in complex problem research, management, and resolution \nAbility to mentor and support junior network engineers\nUS citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required\nDesired Experience:\nExperience designing, engineering, and deploying Zero-Trust solutions\nExperience designing, engineering, and deploying Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions\nHands-on experience and certifications with Juniper, Palo Alto, or Cisco Next-Generation Firewalls\nExperience configuring, designing, and troubleshooting QoS in LAN and WAN environments\nHighly skilled in organization, coordination, teamwork, and interpersonal communication\nDo you know anyone for this position, or other positions open at The Swift Group?
