You’ll collaborate with developers, data engineers, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient capabilities that enable data science, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.\nIf you enjoy solving hard technical problems, working across the stack, and shaping the foundation of a high-profile platform, this role offers the impact and challenge you’re looking for.\nThe location of this job is Herndon, VA.\nResponsibilities:\nPlatform & Service Development: Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices in a Java and Linux based environment.\nSystem Architecture & Scaling: Contribute to the architecture of largescale, distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.\nCloud & Deployment: Develop and deploy services in cloud environments. \nDatabase Engineering: Work with relational databases to support high volume, data driven applications.\nContainerization & Runtime: Build, optimize, and operate containerized services across the platform.\nMonitoring & Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, enhance system monitoring capabilities, and optimize system performance.\nRequirements:\nBS in Computer Science or equivalent \n10+ years of experience building and operating software applications or platform level systems.\nStrong proficiency in all of the following technologies: Java, Ansible/Python, Postgres/MySQL/MariaDB, Linux, AWS\nHands-on experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design.\nProficiency with SQL databases and data intensive application patterns.\nExperience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS or similar).\nStrong experience with containers.\nProficiency with Git based repositories (GitLab, GitHub) and modern development workflows.\nSolid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, and secure coding practices.\nUS citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required\nDesired Experience:\nFamiliarity with distributed data and streaming tools (Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Trino).\nExperience with data access control models such as RBAC and ABAC, including the Customer’s Enterprise access control and entitlement management systems\nBackground supporting largescale, multitenant platforms or high availability systems.\nExperience hardening systems to meet the highest accreditation or security compliance levels.\nFamiliarity with Ansible\nDo you know anyone for this position, or other positions open at The Swift Group?
