As Hotel Manager, you will play a vital role in bringing that vision to life.\nThe role\nAs Hotel Manager, you are responsible for the overall performance of The Usual Rotterdam. You lead the hotel's management team and take ownership of its financial results, guest experience, team engagement and operational excellence.You bring a strong commercial mindset and work closely with our central Sales, Revenue Management and Marketing teams to identify opportunities and grow the business. You understand the local market, actively build relationships and help strengthen our local sales efforts. You see the potential in our F&B, meetings and event spaces and know how to turn them into destinations for both hotel guests and locals. From developing partnerships and attracting new business to organising events and creating reasons for people to visit, you play an active role in growing the hotel's revenue and local presence.\nWe operate with lean teams and a high degree of ownership. As Hotel Manager, you are expected to stay close to the operation, support your management team when needed and lead by example. You are visible, approachable and connected to both your team and guests. At the same time, you know how to empower your managers, make data-driven decisions and maintain a clear focus on the hotel's long-term performance. You combine a strong operational foundation with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven ability to grow revenue, improve profitability and develop high-performing teams.You are naturally curious, energetic and people-oriented. You enjoy being visible throughout the hotel, know your guests by name and take a genuine interest in your team, the local community and what is happening in the city around you.\nYou bring:\nProven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager with full P&L responsibility, preferably within a lifestyle or full-service hotel with multiple revenue streams.\nA demonstrated track record of improving hotel profitability and contributing to commercial growth.\nProven experience managing multi-department hotel operations and leading management teams.\nStrong commercial understanding of Rooms, F&B and Meetings & Events, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into results.\nExperience working with central commercial teams while taking ownership of local business development.\nSolid financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and performance analysis.\nExperience leading, coaching and developing managers and teams.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nConfidence in analysing performance data and making informed decisions.\nAn entrepreneurial mindset, combined with a hands-on leadership style and visible presence throughout the hotel.\nPassion for hospitality, food, people and creating meaningful experiences.\nStrong affinity with sustainability and responsible business practices.\nFluency in English; Dutch is strongly preferred.\nYou are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.\nHow we work\nWe are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
