The role involves building scalable cloud-native solutions, developing microservices and REST APIs, supporting trade processing workflows, and contributing to the modernization of core trading platforms. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive operational excellence, and help deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing technology solutions that support Vanguard's investment and trading ecosystem\nResponsibilites\n1. Provides intermediate level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrates third party products.\n2. Translates technical specifications into code for moderately complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes programs, develops code, tests artifacts, and produces reports. Employs software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation.\n3. Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.\n4. Follows software development methodology. Follows development architecture standards.\n5. Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Participates in systems analysis activities.\n6. Understands client business functions and technology needs. Understands Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems.\n7. Learns and complies with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.\n8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.\n9. Contribute to optimizing system performance through efficient database design and code enhancements to support scalability.\n10. Support the integration and maintenance of data pipelines between APIs and backend systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.\n11. Maintain and update software documentation for backend components, highlighting logic, processes, and architecture.\n12. Apply intermediate knowledge of backend system security and data protection best practices during development.\nQualifications and Skills\nMinimum 3 years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management.\nBachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA).\nExperience with database design, SQL, and data optimization techniques for high-performance applications.\nFamiliarity with API development, integration, and third-party software integration.\nStrong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture.\nProficiency in AWS Cloud Services and cloud-native application development.\nStrong knowledge of SQL, database design, and performance optimization.\nExperience building and supporting enterprise-scale distributed systems.\nExposure to React/Angular and Python is preferred.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.\nExperience with production support, troubleshooting, and incident management.\nFinancial Services, Trading, Brokerage, or Wealth Management domain experience is a plus.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.\nDemonstrated ownership mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.\nLocation\nThis role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office.
