The ideal candidate will be a proactive engineer who enjoys working across the technology stack, collaborating closely with product managers, technical leads, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality solutions.\n\nThis role offers an opportunity to contribute to business-critical platforms that directly support Vanguard's growth objectives across Europe and the UK while working within a modern cloud-based technology ecosystem.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications.\n\nBuild and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.\n\nDevelop and support modern web applications using Angular.\n\nDesign and consume RESTful APIs and web services.\n\nCollaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Engineers to deliver business solutions.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.\n\nSupport cloud-native application development and deployment within AWS.\n\nTroubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.\n\nContribute to platform modernization, third-party integrations, and continuous improvements.\n\nTake ownership of assigned work items and proactively drive delivery.\n\nOperate effectively in an Agile environment using a pull-based work model.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Tech Skills\nMinimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.\n\nBachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.\n\nExperience\n\nTypically, 7 to 8 years of relevant software engineering experience preferred.\n\nCandidates with strong hands-on technical expertise and relevant project experience will also be considered.\n\nStrong experience in Core Java development.\n\nHands-on experience with Spring Boot.\n\nExperience building and consuming REST APIs and web services.\n\nGood development experience in Angular.\n\nExperience working within AWS cloud environments.\n\nUnderstanding of modern software engineering practices and design principles.\n\nExperience working with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.\n\nAWS Exposure: Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Terraform\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).\n\nExperience working within product-based organizations.\n\nExposure to Financial Services or Investment Management domains.\n\nFamiliarity with secure digital platforms and customer-facing applications.\n\nExperience working across both frontend and backend development.\n\nSoft Skills & Behavioural Expectations\nWe are looking for individuals who demonstrate:\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nHigh levels of ownership and accountability.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nA proactive mindset and willingness to seek clarity when needed.\n\nStrong collaboration skills and a team-first attitude.\n\nCuriosity and willingness to learn new technologies.\n\nAbility to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.\n\nSuccessful candidates will thrive in a team culture where engineers actively pull work, engage with stakeholders, and drive outcomes rather than waiting for direction.\n\nLocation\nThis role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard India.
