This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership across Java, AWS, event-driven/serverless architecture, APIs, modern front-end technologies, and platform engineering.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep software engineering experience, strong AWS expertise, technical leadership capabilities, and experience working within the financial services industry.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and development of scalable applications and event-driven, serverless solutions on AWS.\nProvide technical leadership and hands-on engineering across Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, Angular, and APIs.\nBuild and enhance reusable platform capabilities, infrastructure, tooling, and shared services.\nDrive platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence through effective coding, testing, monitoring, and engineering practices.\nDesign and integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.\nApply Infrastructure as Code, including CloudFormation, and support automated CI/CD and cloud deployments.\nImprove developer experience through reusable engineering patterns, automation, documentation, and self-service capabilities.\nLead troubleshooting and resolution of complex application and production issues and participate in production support/on-call activities.\nEstablish strong engineering practices across code quality, testing, observability, monitoring, and continuous delivery.\nMentor engineers, lead technical discussions and design reviews, and collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.\n\nQualifications and Skills\nMinimum 10 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.\nBachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or a related field, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.\nStrong hands-on development experience with Java, along with Spring Boot, Node.js, Angular, React, TypeScript, APIs, and microservices. Working knowledge of Python is beneficial.\nStrong AWS experience, including cloud-native, serverless and event-driven architectures, with knowledge of services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.\nStrong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, HTTP patterns, distributed systems, and event-driven application design.\nExperience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes.\nExperience with relational/NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, DynamoDB, Redis, and Kafka.\nStrong understanding of platform engineering, reusable engineering patterns, developer tooling, self-service capabilities, and developer experience.\nExperience with production monitoring and observability using tools such as Honeycomb, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.\nExperience delivering technology solutions within banking, financial services, or financial-sector environments.\nStrong technical leadership, mentoring, stakeholder collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nLocation\nThis role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard India.
