Job Summary

The Business Technology Analyst supports finance-related business applications across billing and receivables, global travel and expense, and treasury and cash management. This role partners with internal business teams and end users to understand their needs, translate those needs into functional requirements, and deliver system or process improvements that support effective business outcomes.

The position combines business analysis, production support, application configuration, vendor coordination, testing, implementation, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement. The analyst will support an ongoing portfolio of enterprise software products while helping identify opportunities to simplify work, improve the user experience, and responsibly apply automation and AI-enabled capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and inquisitive business analyst who can learn unfamiliar products and workflows, communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical partners, and connect business problems to practical technology solutions. Prior experience with the team’s specific applications is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business-partner and end-user needs and document clear business and functional requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of workflows across billing and receivables, travel and expense, treasury, and cash-management functions.
  • Translate business requirements into functional documentation, application changes, configuration updates, or process-improvement recommendations.
  • Support a portfolio of enterprise business applications used for invoice generation, contract administration, expense processing, anomaly detection, bank-statement aggregation, treasury data, and related finance activities.
  • Investigate production-support tickets and determine the appropriate path for resolution.
  • Resolve application issues within the team’s scope or coordinate with software vendors and technology partners when additional support is required.
  • Communicate application disruptions, downtime, and other important service information to business partners and end users.
  • Identify and document system constraints, dependencies, implications, and consequences associated with proposed changes.
  • Configure application fields, workflows, and data elements in response to changing business and user needs.
  • Lead or support the design, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced application capabilities.
  • Support the onboarding or replacement of third-party software products.
  • Use data and analytical thinking to identify trends, generate actionable insights, and improve business processes and decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive activities, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the end-user experience.
  • Explore practical and responsible uses of AI-enabled capabilities to improve productivity, processes, and decision-making while following appropriate governance and risk controls.
  • Build productive relationships with business partners, end users, technology teams, software vendors, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Five years of related work experience in finance, business technology, project management, business analysis, enterprise application support, or a related field.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience analyzing business or user needs and documenting requirements.
  • Experience translating business needs into functional requirements, process improvements, or technology solutions.
  • Strong communication, active-listening, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar business processes and software products.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities within an ongoing application-support environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across business, technology, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting finance-related business functions or applications, including billing, receivables, invoicing, travel and expense, treasury, cash management, or accounting.
  • Experience with enterprise business applications such as Concur, Workiva, Broadridge products, Oracle modules, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience configuring application fields, workflows, or data elements.
  • Experience coordinating with third-party software vendors.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and interest in data analytics, including the ability to use data to identify trends, generate actionable insights, improve processes, or support business decisions.
  • Experience with data visualization or data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated interest in AI technologies and their practical application in a business environment.
  • Experience identifying or implementing automation and AI-enabled process improvements.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities to use AI-enabled tools while considering appropriate governance and risk controls.
  • Financial services or wealth management experience.
