This role is responsible for identifying, investigating, resolving, or escalating AWS Cloud Security and IAM-related issues while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization's cloud security posture.\nAs a member of the Cloud Identity Security team within the Enterprise Security & Fraud organization, the engineer helps protect cloud infrastructure through vulnerability management, security monitoring, access governance, policy enforcement, and continuous security improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, deploy, and maintain cloud security solutions, controls, and security platforms to mitigate security threats, technology vulnerabilities, and operational risks within AWS environments.\nSupport and monitor cloud security technologies, ensuring effectiveness through the use of monitoring tools, alerting systems, and security applications.\nInvestigate, troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate AWS Cloud Security and AWS IAM incidents, access-related issues, and security events.\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance cloud security standards, controls, testing procedures, log analysis processes, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.\nPerform security reviews, risk assessments, and remediation activities to strengthen cloud security and compliance posture.\nMonitor system access logs, audit trails, and security events to identify suspicious activity, anomalous behavior, or unauthorized access attempts that may indicate potential security breaches.\nCollaborate with engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams to implement secure cloud solutions and promote security best practices.\nSupport identity and access management initiatives, including access controls, role-based access management (RBAC), least-privilege principles, and cloud identity governance.\nMaintain technical documentation, operational procedures, security standards, and knowledge base articles for the team and department.\nParticipate in security-focused projects, cloud modernization initiatives, and other duties as assigned.\nIdentify opportunities to improve cloud security processes, automation, operational efficiency, and risk reduction efforts.\nPreferred Skills\nStrong knowledge of AWS cloud security frameworks, security best practices, governance models, and compliance requirements.\nProficiency with AWS cloud platforms, AWS services, IAM policies, roles, permissions, and AWS API actions, including hands-on security configuration experience.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex AWS Cloud Security and AWS IAM issues.\nExperience with cloud security monitoring, security event investigation, log analysis, and incident response processes.\nAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate security concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, JSON, YAML, and Rego for security operations and policy automation.\nHands-on experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD technologies including CloudFormation and Terraform.\nExperience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) solutions such as Wiz.\nKnowledge of identity security, access governance, privileged access management, and cloud-native security controls.\nFamiliarity with vulnerability management, risk assessment, threat detection, and security compliance programs.\nQualifications\nMinimum of three years related work experience.\nUndergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.\nSpecial Factors\nSponsorship\nVanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.About Vanguard\nAt Vanguard, we don't just have a mission-we're on a mission.\nTo work for the long-term financial wellbeing of our clients.
