This role combines people leadership with technical oversight and hands-on implementation, providing guidance, coaching, and support to engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The manager partners closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions, supports technical decision-making, and helps teams navigate complex and evolving business challenges.\nResponsibilities\nHires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.\nResponsible for delivering software releases relating to the product for the business units. Works with business clients to determine scope, and develops environmental requirements for each project.\nProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development support for engineers and technical team members.\nPartner with engineering teams to guide technical decisions, remove delivery obstacles, and ensure alignment with established engineering standards and best practices.\nSupport the successful delivery of cloud-native applications, AI-enabled solutions, APIs, and technology platforms.\nContribute to implementation as needed, including writing and reviewing code, building prototypes and proofs of concept, and resolving complex technical issues alongside the team.\nCollaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand priorities, align resources, and drive execution against strategic goals.\nFoster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous learning across the team.\nHelp teams manage competing priorities and make timely, effective decisions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.\nMonitor team health, delivery progress, operational performance, and key outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement.\nSupport workforce planning, resource allocation, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning activities.\nEnsure adherence to security, risk management, compliance, and technology governance standards.\nEncourage adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, cloud technologies, and AI-driven solutions where appropriate.\nBuild strong partnerships across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups and effectively communicate team priorities, progress, and outcomes.\nParticipate in strategic initiatives and other leadership responsibilities as assigned.\nQualifications & Skills\nMinimum 8 years of experience in IT project management, software development, or IT service delivery. Previous leadership experience required.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications preferred.\nProven experience leading and developing engineering teams in a technology-driven environment.\nStrong understanding of modern software engineering practices, cloud-native application development, and technology delivery.\nWorking knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, AI/LLM-powered solutions, APIs, and modern application architectures.\nHands-on proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, GitHub, deployment pipelines, and Agile development practices.\nExperience supporting technical decision-making, solution delivery, and engineering execution across multiple initiatives.\nStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.\nExperience operating in ambiguous environments and helping teams navigate change, uncertainty, and evolving priorities.\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nCommitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.\nDesired Candidate Profile\nTechnical leader with a strong engineering foundation and a passion for developing people.\nComfortable guiding teams through complex technical and business challenges and contributing directly to implementation when needed.\nDemonstrates intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and a growth mindset.\nEncourages innovation and experimentation while maintaining focus on business outcomes.\nThrives in fast-paced environments and brings a proactive, ownership-driven approach to leadership.\nBuilds trust, develops talent, and creates an environment where teams can perform at their best.\nLocation\nThis role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard India.
