The Global Transfer Pricing and Intercompany Accounting team plays a critical role in enabling accurate enterprise financial reporting, transparent cost allocation, strong governance, and effective decision-making across Vanguard’s U.S. and international operations. The team sits at the intersection of accounting, tax, technology, legal, reporting, and business operations, providing finance professionals with the opportunity to influence enterprise allocation strategy, strengthen controls, modernize processes, and support a scalable global operating model.
This role will lead complex intercompany accounting activities, including transfer pricing, allocation review, model governance, reconciliations, controls, audit response, dashboard maintenance, and process improvement. This role serves as a key subject matter expert, helping ensure intercompany results are accurate, well-supported, and aligned with accounting standards, corporate policies, and finance transformation objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manages intercompany responsibilities, including model methodology, annual cost center and model recertification, and reviewing data requests (new/closed departments, etc.)
- Reviews and approves the work of team members to ensure the proper recording of financial activities in accordance with accounting and reporting standards, statutory reporting requirements and corporate policies. Provides financial expertise and leadership in coordinating and managing the financial closing process.
- Leads the recommendation, design and implementation of internal control procedures that ensure proper recording of financial positions and prevents material errors in accounting records. Manages process changes to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency. Documents all modifications and communicates to management and to the appropriate clients.
- Serve as primary liaison for internal and external audits. Answers all auditor inquiries related to complex accounting topics.
- Maintain reporting dashboards and process insights that support transparency, monitoring, and management review.
- Advance automation, standardization, and process improvement opportunities across the intercompany operating model.
- Builds and develops strong working relationships with business stakeholders.
- Creates, updates, and presents training to accounting staff and management.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight years’ related work experience in an accounting and financial reporting environment.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree is preferred; CPA preferred.
- Transfer Pricing operations exp. helpful
- Intercompany Governance exp. helpful.
