This role is a great opportunity to build foundational tax expertise: you will assist with tax compliance, help coordinate with external advisors, support fund-level tax reporting, and contribute to building scalable tax processes as the function continues to evolve. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Operations while developing familiarity with the fund structures, including partnerships, corporations, and foreign entities used across the flagship funds. The role offers exposure to compliance, investor tax reporting, advisor coordination, and tax projects within a growing and dynamic business.\nResponsibilities\nPerform first level review of tax returns, Schedule K-1s, workpapers, and supporting schedules prepared by external advisors, summarizing and flagging items for Tax Manager review\n\nAssist in maintaining the tax compliance calendar, trackers, and supporting documentation across all entities, proactively flagging deadlines for annual filings, registrations, and tax notices to ensure timely, accurate compliance\n\nHelp coordinate the collection, tracking, and review of tax documents and related investor requests\n\nPrepare ad-hoc special projects and tax-related requests from various investors with accuracy and timeliness\n\nSupport tax process improvement through automation, documentation, and internal knowledge to increase efficiency\n\nAssist with researching tax issues and regulatory changes relevant to existing and future funds\n\nProvide support to the Fund Accounting team on various tasks during the off-peak tax season\n\nRequirements\n1-3 years of tax experience, preferably at a Big 4 or national accounting firm\n\nStrong working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance for partnerships (Form 1065) preferred; corporate (Forms 1120) experience is a plus\n\nStrong understanding of partnership taxation and related reporting\n\nExperience with both onshore (U.S.) and offshore (Cayman) fund structures is a plus\n\nStrong abilities in Microsoft Excel\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or a related field\n\nAuthorization to work in the United States\n\n“Friends of Voleon” Candidate Referral Program\nIf you have a great candidate in mind for this role and would like to have the potential to earn $7,500 if your referred candidate is successfully hired and employed by The Voleon Group, please use this form to submit your referral.
