Retail is more competitive than ever, and we are committed to bringing our A game.\n Behind our well-loved brands sits a team committed to doing the right thing, protecting our customers, and ensuring we operate responsibly.\nWe now have an awesome opportunity to join our Legal & Compliance team and play a key role in supporting compliance, privacy and regulatory activity across one of New Zealand's largest retail groups.\nYou'll work across a wide variety of business areas, helping teams understand their obligations, manage risk, and navigate compliance challenges in practical, commercially sensible ways.\nSnapshot of the role:\nKeeping our compliance framework sharp - reviewing policies, procedures and controls so they’re not only compliant but practical and effective \nSupport privacy matters, requests, incidents and assessments\nContribute to compliance training and awareness programmes\nStaying across the latest regulatory developments (FTA, CGA, Privacy, Product Safety Standards, etc.) and translating these into what they mean for our business \nSupporting leaders and teams to understand their responsibilities, bringing complex requirements to life through training, coaching and communication \nWorking closely with teams like Legal, Product, Customer Care, Loss Prevention, QA, Finance, Logistics and more - you’ll be a trusted partner across the business \nWork with external advisers, regulators and key stakeholders when required\n You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle competing priorities without losing your cool. You know when to roll up your sleeves, when to ask the right questions, and when it's time to escalate an issue.\nYou're naturally curious, practical and solutions-focused, with a knack for turning complex information into clear, plain-English advice that people can actually understand and act on. Most importantly, you're able to see both the detail and the bigger picture, helping the business navigate challenges while keeping an eye on what matters most.\nYou don't need a compliance background to be successful here however working knowledge of New Zealand regulatory frameworks/requirements, including consumer (CGA 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986) and privacy legislation would be advantageous. We're looking for someone with sound judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to quickly get up to speed on new topics.
