This role handles day-to-day purchasing requests, ensuring the material and services are available to support operations without disruption while driving value and cost savings. Responsibilities include forecasting seasonal demands, evaluating inventory needs, and efficiently responding to supplier and customer inquiries. The Specialist also proactively addresses procurement issues such as order delays, shortages, and changes to support effective and efficient sourcing outcomes.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nFunctions include, but are not limited to:\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nMonitor and manage inventory levels to maintain necessary stock of parts, materials, and supplies\nEffectively communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality products\nBuild and manage strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders\nEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements\nPrepare and review purchase orders and invoices for accuracy\nRegularly review and manage open purchase orders and receipts\nReview and process non-inventory requisition orders\nPrepare for Seasonal work (harvest, irrigation, etc.,) by forecasting, bidding and ordering\nReview slow-moving inventory to minimize waste\nReview and Update min/max levels\nCross reference inventory parts and identify optimal sourcing options\nRespond efficiently to purchasing and accounts payable inquiries\nAdditional Functions\nProvide backup support during month-end closing\nProvide coverage for team meetings as required\nAssist Inventory Managers, Assistant Inventory Managers, and Shop Personnel as needed\n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function\nQualifications Requirements\nCritical/Functional Skills\nStrong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills\nExcellent organizational and time management abilities\nStrong analytical skills with the capability to interpret data effectively\nHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail\nEducation and/or Experience Preferred but not Required:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required)\nBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field - or equivalent combination of education and experience-Preferred\n0-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations, preferably in a fast-paced or manufacturing environment.\nExperience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nProven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role\nComprehensive knowledge of purchasing principles and best practices\nProficiency in EBS, Fleet Asset Works, Tableau Reporting, and SharePoint\nAbility to understand chemical specifications, SDS documentation, and compliance requirements\nBilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred\nCertification and Licenses:\nForklift Certification preferred\nPay Range: $22.00-$23.50.
