This role leads key initiatives related to label compliance, product traceability, regulatory reporting, and sustainability obligations, while providing critical insights to senior leadership on cost of quality and compliance risk.\nThis position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.\n Regulatory & Market Compliance\nCollaborate with the NPD, marketing and regulatory teams, to comply with importing countries’ labeling requirements.\nMonitor global regulatory changes impacting bottled water and packaging by establishing a strong working relationship with the regulatory team and conducting market research\nMaintain a register of all regulatory requirements and approvals for markets served.\nSupport market entry activities by validating compliance readiness.\nTraceability & Product Disposition\nOversee product disposition processes to ensure full traceability, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.\nEnsure accurate tracking of non-conforming product, including root cause, disposition pathway, and reconciliation of destroyed volumes.\nPartner with supply chain and third-party providers to validate destruction certificates and audit compliance.\nCost of Quality & Reporting\nCollate, analyze, and report cost of quality (CoQ) data, including waste, rework, recalls, and non-conformance costs.\nPrepare executive-level dashboards and insights for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reporting.\nIdentify trends and cost drivers and recommend improvement initiatives.\nSustainability Programs\nManage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting across applicable markets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local regulations.\nCompile and submit data related to packaging volumes, materials, and recycling obligations.\nSupport financial forecasting and reconciliation of fees related to the sustainability programs.\nCoordinate registrations, certifications, and reporting requirements related to post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic usage.\nEnsure supplier documentation and traceability for recycled materials meet regulatory and certification requirements (e.g., food-grade compliance).\nTrack and report PCR usage against corporate sustainability targets.\nQuality Systems & Governance\nMaintain and improve quality and compliance management systems aligned with ISO, HACCP, and food safety standards.\nSupport internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections and certification audits.\nDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to compliance activities.\nRisk Management & Issue Escalation\nIdentify compliance risks across markets and proactively implement mitigation strategies.\nLead or support investigations into compliance breaches, labeling errors, or market complaints.\nCoordinate recall readiness and mock recall exercises.\nData Management & Digital Systems\nData analytics of products received into 3PL warehouses to identify opportunities for improvements and reduction in Cost of Quality.\nSupport digitalization initiatives to improve compliance tracking and reporting.\nStakeholder Engagement\nPartner with regulatory affairs, legal, marketing, supply chain, and sustainability teams to ensure end-to-end compliance.\nAct as the key point of contact for market compliance issues.\nProvide guidance and training to internal teams on regulatory and labeling requirements.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to streamline compliance processes and reduce complexity across markets.\nLead or contribute to cross-functional improvement projects.\nImplement best practices across regions.\nRequirements\nMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs\n10% travel\n B.S. Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.\n8+ years experience in quality, compliance, or regulatory roles within FMCG or beverage industries.\nStrong knowledge of international labeling and food safety regulations.\nExperience with EPR, sustainability reporting, and packaging compliance highly desirable.\nStrong analytical and reporting skills, including experience with cost of quality metrics.\nKey Competencies\nAttention to detail and regulatory interpretation\nStakeholder management and influence\nAnalytical thinking and data-driven decision-making\nStrong governance and risk management mindset\nCommunication skills (technical and executive-level)\nExperience dealing with multi-country regulatory frameworks (Asia, EU, APAC, US)\nPay Range: $117,000 - $135,000 and may include a discretionary bonus.
