You will act as a technical authority for cloud governance, security posture, identity, networking, and core platform services.\nThis role combines hands-on engineering with platform ownership and influence, working closely with local and global stakeholders to continuously improve how cloud services are designed, operated, and governed.\nDay-to-day, you will:\nCloud Governance, Compliance & FinOps\nOwn and evolve cloud governance and compliance frameworks across Azure and AWS, covering policies, landing zones, account structures, and guardrails\nEnsure environments remain secure, compliant, and cost efficient through CSPM tooling, policy enforcement, and FinOps practices\nPartner with stakeholders to remediate compliance risks and support internal and external assessments\nIdentity & Access Management\nOwn enterprise identity and access management across Azure and AWS, including SSO, federation, Conditional Access, and MFA\nEnforce least privilege access and oversee user and application lifecycle management\nMaintain integration between on premises Active Directory and cloud identity platforms\nCloud Networking & Connectivity\nDesign and operate secure, scalable cloud and hybrid networking across Azure and AWS\nOwn core networking components, connectivity patterns, and security controls\nAct as an escalation point for complex networking and connectivity issues\nMonitoring, Reliability & Incident Response\nDefine observability standards and ensure effective monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility\nParticipate in on call and major incident response, driving root cause analysis and long term reliability improvements\nCompute & Platform Operations\nOwn lifecycle management of Windows and Linux virtual machines across Azure and AWS\nEnsure configurations, backup, and disaster recovery align with organizational standards\nDrive automation and standardization to reduce operational overhead\nContinuous Improvement & Collaboration\nAct as a trusted technical partner to application and platform teams\nContribute to platform standards, documentation, and architectural decisions\nContinuously improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency\nYour skills and experiences might also include: \nCore Requirements\nStrong hands on experience operating production workloads in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS\nProven experience with cloud governance and compliance frameworks (Azure Policy, Management Groups, AWS Organizations, SCPs)\nSolid background in identity and access management, including SSO, federation, Conditional Access, and MFA\nStrong networking fundamentals with practical experience designing cloud and hybrid networking architectures\nExperience monitoring and operating cloud platforms at scale, including incident response and problem management\nAbility to troubleshoot complex, multi layer cloud infrastructure issues under pressure\nTechnical Proficiency\nAzure: ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, Virtual WAN, Azure Monitor, KQL\nAWS: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudWatch, AWS Config, Security Hub\nCompute: Windows & Linux VM lifecycle management in Azure and AWS\nAutomation & IaC: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, Bicep (or equivalent)\nWhat are we all about?\nThe Access Group is one of the largest UK-headquartered business management software providers.
