Saturday and Sunday 7:00pm to 7:00am \nPosition Overview\nResponsible for the safe and effective manufacturing of blood and blood components and all aspects of the distribution process in accordance with AABB and FDA guidelines.\nEssential Functions Component Manufacturing Tasks:\nPerforms the manufacture of blood components from units of whole blood in a safe and timely manner\nPerforms modification procedures of blood products as needed\nPerforms computer entry of all manufactured or modified blood products\nPerforms daily, monthly, quarterly control (and other QC as applicable) on all equipment used in the manufacturing process\nPerforms product labeling\nGeneral Work Practices:\nMaintains a clean and orderly work area\nPerforms on call duties as assigned\nProduces accurate, precise, and legible documentation at each level of the manufacturing and distribution process\nPerforms duties with minimal errors\nPerforms other duties as assigned or required\nTeam Leader Responsibilities (If Applicable) Documents and Record Management:\nAssures procedures and forms are uniform and adhere to the organization’s document control directives\nComplies with the organization’s document control directive in terms of uniformity of design and layout; document approval and use; avoidance of antiquated documents; archiving of replaced documents; and document storage, retention and retrieval\nAssures records are generated according to instructions in related procedures, and those applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards are met in terms of record review, retention and storage\nAdministrative Tasks:\nAssists with supervising, coaching, and training of assigned staff\nProvides input regarding staff performance and evaluations\nDirects workflow of component processing and assures communication between shifts\nAssures completion of duties by staff members\nAssists in procedure development and implementation\nAssists in reviewing records\nAssists in maintaining appropriate levels of supplies and materials needed for component manufacturing\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nAbility to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions\nAbility to follow SOP in a heavily FDA regulated environment\nAbility to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers\nAbility to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers\nPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
